- • Support day-to-day operations for Assurant’s Retirement, Health & Welfare, and Wellbeing programs, with a primary focus on Retirement and Financial plans.
- • Collect, compile, synthesize, and analyze large datasets to support audits, regulatory compliance, participant engagement reporting, and executive dashboards.
- • Own the preparation, validation, and ongoing management of the employee benefits census provided to the benefits consulting partner to ensure accuracy for renewals, compliance, and strategic planning.
- • Lead the annual 401(k) Plan and Dependent Care FSA non-discrimination testing process.
- • Manage the benefits department’s compliance calendar to ensure all regulatory deadlines are met, including filings for Form 5500 series, PBGC, 10-K/10-Q/11-K, and pension plan valuations.
- • Perform quarterly cost projections for qualified and non-qualified defined contribution plans in collaboration with internal departments.
- • Maintain data integrity and system connectivity between internal platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday) and external vendors (e.g., Vanguard).
- • Support vendor management activities to ensure accurate plan administration, timely employee communications, and resolution of participant escalations.
- • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to eliminate single points of failure and ensure process continuity.
- • Serve as the primary liaison between the People Experience Center (PEC) and benefits teams to identify opportunities for process simplification and automation.
- • Process and track consultant and vendor invoices, ensuring alignment with budget and historical cost trends to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- • Manage the Total Rewards Statement lifecycle, including maintenance, evolution, and alignment with plan documents and vendor updates.
- • Act as the Financial Wellbeing liaison to support the company’s broader Wellbeing strategy.
- • Administer and edit content for MyAssurantBenefits.com, ensuring all information is accurate, current, and aligned with open enrollment updates and plan changes.
- • Assist with special projects including Open Enrollment, new program implementations, system upgrades, integrations, and mergers & acquisitions.
- • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills—including formula writing, pivot tables, and V-lookups—to generate reports and perform financial and operational analysis.
- • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to retirement and welfare benefit plans.
- • Collaborate with HRIS, payroll, legal, and external vendors to execute core benefits processes and resolve operational issues.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
- • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in benefits administration, total rewards, compensation & benefits, or related HR analytical roles
- • Advanced Excel skills including formula reading/writing, pivot tables, and V-lookups
- • Familiarity with benefits audits and compliance filings (e.g., Form 5500, PBGC, 10-K/10-Q/11-K)
- • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines
