• • As a Senior Benefits Underwriter at Ryans Goh Holdings Sdn. Bhd., you will be at the forefront of shaping and refining our employee benefits insurance offerings. This pivotal role involves the strategic development of policies and procedures, with a keen focus on identifying and implementing improvements to the underwriting process. You will be instrumental in evaluating and approving insurance applications specifically for employee benefits, ensuring that our risk assessment is robust and our coverage levels are appropriate for our clients.
• • This position demands a proactive approach to risk management, requiring you to meticulously review, analyze, and inspect insurance risks. You will act as a subject matter expert, providing invaluable guidance to staff on all aspects of the underwriting process, including risk management strategies, rating methodologies, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our underwriting operations.
• • A significant part of your responsibility will be to ensure that all underwriting activities strictly adhere to established procedures and all relevant regulations. This includes overseeing and guaranteeing that your team is effectively servicing assigned accounts and providing comprehensive support to brokers. You will collaborate closely with other members of the Underwriting and Sales teams within your assigned territory to foster strong client relationships and drive business growth.
• • You will play a key role in our quarterly audit process, striving for 100% timely compliance and taking decisive action on audit recommendations and findings. This commitment to quality assurance is paramount in maintaining our high standards and mitigating potential risks.
• • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work hand-in-hand with various functional areas across the organization, including Claims, Actuarial, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance. This cross-functional partnership is essential for achieving our strategic objectives and ensuring the long-term profitability and growth of our Healthcare business.
• • You will also be responsible for overseeing and coaching your underwriting team, fostering their professional development and ensuring they are equipped to achieve Ryan Specialty's overall goals in collaboration with Distribution. You will share responsibility for meeting overall revenue targets through successful new business acquisition and client retention.
• • Developing the underwriting team's expertise is a core component of this role. You will provide ongoing coaching, support, and educational programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in areas such as risk assessment, product offerings, and market trends.
• • Ensuring that all underwriting activities are conducted in full compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements is non-negotiable. Your vigilance in this area will protect the company and our clients.
