đź“‹ Description

  • • Embark on a transformative summer internship experience at Alan SAS, a pioneering health tech company revolutionizing the insurance and healthcare landscape. As a Business Development Intern for Summer 2026 in Toronto, Canada, you will not be a passive observer but an active contributor, deeply embedded in the strategic growth and market expansion of our Canadian operations.
  • • Alan SAS is at the forefront of creating a vertically integrated health partner, seamlessly merging insurance and healthcare services. With a global presence boasting 35,000 customers, 1 million members, and over $1 billion in revenue, we are now making significant inroads into the Canadian market, a venture valued at over $6 billion.
  • • Our core mission is to empower individuals to live healthier lives, reaching 100 years of age, while enabling employers to transform their health benefits from a mere cost center into their most valuable investment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to this ambitious and impactful mission.
  • • You will be instrumental in shaping Alan's future in Canada, a market where our expansion strategy is actively being written. Working closely with the Chief of Staff and Canadian leadership, including the General Manager (GM) of Canada, the sales team, and marketing, your role will be pivotal in unlocking new growth avenues.
  • • Your responsibilities will span driving strategic alignment, developing and implementing new internal and external processes, and contributing to the innovation and development of new products. This is a hands-on role where you will be deeply involved in key challenges facing Alan, undertaking high-value tasks that directly impact our business objectives.
  • • The scope of your projects is intentionally broad, reflecting the dynamic nature of a rapidly growing startup in a new market. While specific tasks may evolve, you can expect to contribute across various critical business functions. This internship is designed for individuals who thrive in ambiguity and are eager to build tangible solutions.
  • • Potential projects include significant contributions to our sales efforts. You will have the opportunity to join customer and prospect calls, gaining firsthand insight into the entire sales cycle. Furthermore, you will be tasked with building scalable workflows to support the sales team's expansion across Canada, and developing internal AI tools to enhance the efficiency of sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • • You will also play a role in exploring and supporting partnership opportunities, engaging in business outreach to forge strategic alliances. If your ambition is to build something real and impactful, this internship provides the platform and the autonomy to do so.
  • • Past intern projects highlight the tangible impact previous interns have made. These have included organizing founder and HR events in Toronto, which involved managing invite lists, contacting companies, and fostering conversations that generated significant sales pipeline. Interns have also conducted in-depth research into new customer segments in Canada, building target lists, analyzing competitors, and supporting go-to-market strategies for new verticals.
  • • Another example of impactful intern work includes the creation of AI tooling designed to accelerate our go-to-market plans, demonstrating a commitment to leveraging technology for business advantage. These examples underscore the expectation that interns will deliver meaningful results and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • • To thrive in this role, you will need a strong analytical mindset and business acumen, enabling you to frame critical questions, make sound decisions even in ambiguous situations, and think holistically about the company's strategic direction.
  • • Exceptional execution and collaboration skills are essential. You will be expected to own projects from inception to completion, effectively directing yourself and others towards achieving desired outcomes.
  • • Versatility and strong organizational abilities are key. You must be able to switch between different tasks and contexts without compromising quality, delivering work with precision and requiring minimal supervision.
  • • Finally, a commitment to conciseness in communication is valued, as every word matters in a fast-paced environment. This internship is an unparalleled opportunity to gain practical experience, develop critical business skills, and make a real impact within a rapidly growing and innovative company.
