- • Serve as the first dedicated Business Development Manager for Romania, responsible for establishing and expanding Mollie’s presence in the Romanian market from the ground up.
- • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with Romanian SMEs and mid-market merchants to drive rapid market share growth in a high-potential region.
- • Build and maintain a high-activity outbound sales pipeline through strategic prospecting, networking, and direct outreach tailored to the Romanian e-commerce landscape.
- • Pitch Mollie’s localized payment solutions, emphasizing seamless integration, superior checkout experience for Romanian consumers, and frictionless money management.
- • Manage the full sales cycle from initial discovery and product demonstration to contract negotiation and go-live implementation for new merchant clients.
- • Provide actionable local market insights to Product and Marketing teams to ensure Mollie’s offerings align with Romanian merchant needs, payment preferences, and regulatory context.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records in HubSpot to enable precise forecasting, pipeline transparency, and performance tracking.
- • Negotiate complex B2B deals with C-suite and decision-makers, leveraging strong communication and influence skills to secure partnerships.
- • Demonstrate technical aptitude to clearly explain payment APIs, integration requirements, and platform benefits to non-technical business owners and developers.
- • Operate with high autonomy as a "hunter" in a startup-like environment, building a territory from zero without a pre-existing client base or sales infrastructure.
- • Collaborate as part of Mollie’s expanding Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) team, aligning regional strategies with broader European growth objectives.
- • Contribute to Mollie’s AI-driven culture by leveraging AI tools to enhance prospecting efficiency, sales forecasting, and customer engagement.
- • Represent Mollie as a trusted partner to Romanian businesses, helping them eliminate financial bureaucracy and scale faster through modern payment solutions.

- • Professional fluency in Romanian and English
- • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a B2B SaaS or fintech environment
- • Deep knowledge of the Romanian e-commerce ecosystem and local payment behaviors
- • Self-starter "hunter" mentality with experience building a territory from scratch
- • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to influence C-suite stakeholders
