Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • As a Business Process Improvement Manager at Centene Corporation, you will be at the forefront of transforming healthcare operations for our 28 million members. This pivotal role is dedicated to identifying, designing, and enhancing enterprise-wide processes, with a specific focus on the Medicare line of business. You will leverage your expertise in LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to drive significant improvements in business infrastructure and performance, acting as a key thought partner in shaping the future operational landscape of our Medicare services.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously identify, develop, prioritize, and execute process improvement opportunities. This involves a deep dive into existing workflows, applying continuous improvement principles to uncover inefficiencies and areas for optimization. You will be instrumental in translating strategic goals into tangible process enhancements that directly impact business outcomes and member experience.
  • • A crucial aspect of this role involves the diligent monitoring of process improvement projects. You will collaborate closely with a diverse range of cross-functional partners, including teams from Claims, Appeals, Provider Operations, Compliance, and Actuary. Your ability to coordinate effectively with these stakeholders and project teams will ensure that deadlines are met, objectives are achieved, and a demonstrable return on investment is realized from each initiative.
  • • You will be adept at mapping and documenting processes end-to-end. Utilizing standard tools such as flowcharts, SIPOC diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and RACI matrices, you will create clear and comprehensive visual representations of current and future state processes. This documentation will serve as a critical foundation for understanding, communicating, and implementing improvements.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve empowering others through training. You will provide essential training to project teams and functional areas, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement and sustain process improvement activities. This knowledge transfer is key to embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • • You will act as a skilled negotiator and facilitator, working with project stakeholders to secure necessary resources, proactively mitigate risks, and resolve complex issues. Your ability to clearly communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular project status updates will ensure transparency and alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • • Identifying, communicating, and correcting gaps in process performance will be a core function. You will provide expert guidance and strategic recommendations to address these identified gaps, ensuring that processes are not only improved but also consistently perform at optimal levels. This includes a strong focus on root-cause analysis to address systemic issues rather than just surface-level symptoms.
  • • This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Florida. You will be empowered to drive change and innovation from a distance, contributing to Centene's mission of transforming the health of communities. Your work will directly influence how we serve our members, making a tangible difference in their lives.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, coupled with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other related process improvement methodologies. Prior experience within the healthcare industry is highly preferred, as it provides valuable context for the unique challenges and opportunities within this sector.
  • • You should have a proven track record of working with process mapping and design tools, statistical applications, and project management software. Strong documentation skills, including proficiency with swimlanes, SIPOCs, and RACIs, are essential for clearly articulating process flows and responsibilities. Furthermore, exceptional analytical and root-cause analysis skills are paramount, enabling you to delve into operational details to pinpoint performance gaps and inefficiencies effectively.
