- • Embark on a transformative journey as a Campus Ministry Associate with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, focusing on the dynamic NW Region. This part-time, remote position is designed as a one or two-year intensive training program, preparing you for the full responsibilities of a Campus Staff Minister. Your work will be tailored to your unique skills, providing a rich environment for learning and practical application of ministerial functions.
- • At the core of this role is your personal spiritual development. You will be challenged to grow as a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ, deepening your love for God, His Word, His diverse people, and His purposes for the world. This involves cultivating daily spiritual disciplines, actively participating in a worshipping community, and fostering spiritual relationships.
- • Continuous learning and growth are paramount. You will be encouraged to expand your spiritual understanding, biblical knowledge, and ministry skills through ongoing training and practical experience. This role is an opportunity to explore and live out an authentic call to ministry service with InterVarsity, aligning with its vital mission.
- • As a key member of the ministry team, you will actively contribute to casting spiritual vision and direction. Your engagement will be crucial in achieving the team’s plans for spiritual growth and transformation, and you may be called upon to provide leadership in specific areas.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve teaching students to embrace and apply Scripture to their lives, fostering a deeper connection with biblical principles. You will learn about and assist in leading ministry initiatives targeting students and faculty on campus, seeking opportunities to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- • You will gain experience in guiding ministry chapters or segments in strategic thinking related to campus witness. This includes learning to model and assist students and faculty in cultivating a love for God's people across all ethnicities and cultures, promoting unity and understanding.
- • Developing future leaders is a key objective. You will help build student and/or faculty ministry leadership teams, nurturing their growth and capacity. Encouraging a prayerful lifestyle among students and faculty, with a particular focus on those exploring faith, is also an integral part of this role.
- • You will engage positively with the supervision and guidance provided by your assigned Campus Ministry Director, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented relationship.
- • In terms of pastoral care and support, you will provide assistance as assigned, based on your developing skill level. This includes offering pastoral care and support to student and/or leadership teams, as well as individual students and faculty members.
- • You will contribute to providing training, resources, and opportunities for students and faculty to enhance their spiritual development. This may also involve recruiting students and/or faculty and providing specific leadership for conferences and projects.
- • Administrative duties are essential for the smooth operation of the ministry. You will perform necessary administrative tasks to fulfill InterVarsity's purpose and adhere to its policies and procedures, including compliance with Risk Management policies.
- • You will follow established budgeting and expense reporting guidelines, ensuring fiscal responsibility. Additionally, you will assist students in filing annual chapter affiliation forms in coordination with your assigned Campus Staff Minister and fulfill area, regional, and national reporting requirements.
- • Ministry Partner Development and Public Relations are crucial for sustainability and growth. You will serve as an ambassador for InterVarsity, engaging with individual ministry partners and churches through prayer, discussions about ministry efforts, mission, and accomplishments.
- • You will carry out tasks essential for effective fund development and building strong public relations for InterVarsity's ministry. Maintaining expenses within allocated budgets is a key responsibility.
- • A significant part of this role involves securing personal financial and prayer support, cultivating a ministry among partners who will fund InterVarsity's work. You will develop and implement an annual 30-day plan for raising your personal budget and communicate with ministry partners at least four times annually.
- • Cultivating and maintaining supportive relationships with alumni is also an important aspect of building a strong network of support for the ministry.
