đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Catalogue Operations Associate at Deliveroo, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of product data that powers the customer experience across Deliveroo’s grocery and retail marketplace. Your work directly impacts how consumers discover and purchase items, making you a key contributor to the platform’s reliability and user satisfaction.
  • • You will execute precise catalogue categorisations by applying Deliveroo’s comprehensive grocery and retail taxonomy to thousands of product lines from global partners, identifying and correcting misclassifications—such as placing a frozen pizza in the wrong category like 'Fresh Food'—to maintain data quality and support seamless customer browsing.
  • • You will generate high-quality training data through meticulous data labelling tasks that feed into the development and refinement of Deliveroo’s Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) models, enabling smarter product recommendations and search functionality.
  • • You will uphold operational excellence by acting as a vital quality control layer, continuously monitoring and validating product data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability across all customer-facing touchpoints.
  • • You will collaborate closely with the Global Grocery & Retail Taxonomist and the wider Catalogue Operations team, contributing to a data-driven culture that prioritises precision, process adherence, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • • You will develop strong analytical and organisational skills by managing large volumes of product data using spreadsheet tools like Google Sheets and Excel, applying functions such as VLOOKUP, filters, and basic formulas to clean, organise, and enrich datasets efficiently.
  • • You will enhance your cross-cultural communication abilities by working with product information in multiple languages, leveraging internal tools and translation aids to ensure accurate categorisation across Deliveroo’s international markets.
  • • You will gain hands-on experience in e-commerce data operations, taxonomy management, and AI training data preparation—skills that are highly transferable and in demand across tech, retail, and logistics sectors.
  • • You will have the opportunity to grow within Deliveroo’s expanding data and operations functions, with potential pathways into senior catalogue management, data quality leadership, or AI operations roles as the company continues to scale its grocery and retail offerings globally.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Exceptional common sense and logic: Ability to quickly and accurately determine where grocery or retail products belong within a supermarket structure, even in ambiguous or complex cases.
  • • Prior data labelling experience: Proven background in high-volume data entry, data management, or quality assurance, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or grocery environments.
  • • High attention to detail: Commitment to maintaining impeccable accuracy and consistency when processing large volumes of product data.
  • • Process adherence and execution speed: Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures precisely while meeting high daily productivity targets.
  • • Basic product knowledge: Solid understanding of common food, beverage, and retail product categories found in typical supermarkets.
  • • Data proficiency: Practical experience with spreadsheet software (Google Sheets/Excel), including VLOOKUP, filters, and basic formulas for data management and cleaning.
  • • Language skills: Fluency in English and comfort working with product information in other languages using internal tools or translation aids.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Comprehensive healthcare coverage tailored to the Hyderabad location, including medical, dental, and vision plans to support employee well-being.
  • • Generous annual leave allowance, including additional time off to volunteer for a charitable cause of your choice, reflecting Deliveroo’s commitment to social impact.
  • • Access to well-being programmes and parental leave policies designed to support work-life balance and family needs.
  • • Pension contributions and retirement savings support as part of Deliveroo’s long-term employee welfare package.
  • • A diverse, inclusive workplace culture that celebrates individuality and promotes equity, with no tolerance for discrimination based on gender, race, sexuality, religion, or personal preferences.
  • • Opportunities for professional growth within a fast-scaling global tech company, with exposure to cutting-edge ML and GenAI initiatives through data labelling work.
