📋 Description

• Catastrophe & Exposure Management Expert for AI Research Project – You will apply deep insurance risk expertise to shape how frontier AI models reason through complex catastrophe and exposure problems, directly influencing the development of next-generation AI systems in partnership with leading foundational AI labs.
• Day to day, you will design realistic catastrophe and exposure management tasks, write evaluation rubrics reflecting professional judgment, review AI-generated analyses for misinterpretations of model outputs and accumulation risks, build benchmark studies, and communicate risk assessments clearly in writing.
• Aptura Inc. works with top-tier AI labs to embed institutional finance expertise into AI model development; founded by ex-Lazard and Partners Group professionals, the company operates remotely from London and San Francisco, bridging insurance domain knowledge with cutting-edge AI research.
• In this role, you will achieve impact by setting the standard for how AI models handle catastrophe modeling, exposure management, and portfolio risk — advancing AI’s ability to reason under uncertainty while deepening your expertise at the intersection of insurance and artificial intelligence.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8+ years in catastrophe modeling or exposure management at an insurer, reinsurer, broker, or modeling vendor
• Hands-on experience with Moody’s RMS and/or Verisk Touchstone, and familiarity with PML, AEP, and OEP analysis
• Ability to explain what catastrophe model outputs do and do not tell you clearly enough to teach the reasoning, not just the outcome
• ACII, a catastrophe modeling qualification, or a numerate degree (preferred, not required)
