Citrix VDI Support Specialist

📋 Description

• • The Citrix VDI Support Specialist will support, maintain, and enhance the virtual desktop environment, with a primary focus on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, ensuring a secure, stable, and high-performing VDI ecosystem for end users.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining the virtual environment; administering and updating multiple virtual images with security patches and performance optimizations; partnering with IT Support and Application teams to evaluate new applications and required adjustments; identifying and implementing image updates to improve security, standardization, stability, and user experience; planning and executing virtual image upgrades across development, test, and production environments with minimal disruption; documenting and communicating changes per change-management procedures; providing Tier 2 support for virtual environment issues; creating training materials and delivering knowledge transfer to IT Support teams; and following standards while seeking continuous process improvements.
• • The role is with DesignWorks Talent, supporting a client in the civil engineering and infrastructure industry, working closely with internal IT teams to ensure reliable virtual experiences across the organization.
• • The specialist will gain hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale VDI environments, develop expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, contribute to process optimization and standardization efforts, and build cross-functional collaboration skills while supporting mission-critical infrastructure for a civil engineering-focused organization.
