- • Join Smile Digital Health Inc., a rapidly growing innovator in the health data platform space, recognized as #19 on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Ranking for 2024. We are on a mission to achieve #BetterGlobalHealth by empowering healthcare stakeholders worldwide with our leading FHIR-based data liberation platform. Our solutions are deployed in over 20 countries, facilitating the collection, exchange, and management of critical healthcare data to improve patient care and outcomes. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cutting-edge SaaS offerings.
- • This role is instrumental in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of our cloud-hosted services and platforms. You will be at the forefront of building and managing the infrastructure that powers our innovative health data solutions, directly contributing to our global health mission. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our platform can handle increasing demands and evolving technological landscapes.
- • A core responsibility will be the ownership and development of deployment artifacts. This includes crafting and maintaining sophisticated HELM charts for Kubernetes deployments, defining robust Docker container and compose configurations for efficient application packaging, and implementing comprehensive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage our cloud resources programmatically. This ensures consistency, repeatability, and auditability across all our environments.
- • You will also be responsible for building and optimizing our build, deployment, and automation pipelines. This involves leveraging CI/CD best practices and tools to streamline the software delivery lifecycle, enabling faster, more frequent, and more reliable releases of our platform updates and new features. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and agility of our engineering teams.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work hand-in-hand with our platform, infrastructure, architecture, and security teams. This cross-functional partnership ensures that all cloud deployments are not only technically sound but also align with enterprise architecture patterns, adhere to stringent security protocols, and meet the high availability and performance standards expected of a leading health tech platform.
- • You will be instrumental in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to cloud infrastructure, performance bottlenecks, and deployment failures. This requires a deep understanding of cloud services, networking, and application behavior in a distributed environment.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud strategy, exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall resilience and security of our cloud footprint.
- • Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support for critical production incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to our services and maintaining the trust of our global clientele.
- • Documenting cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain a high standard of operational excellence.
- • You will have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions related to cloud services, containerization, and orchestration, helping to shape the technical direction of Smile Digital Health's platform.
- • By ensuring our cloud infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable, you will directly enable Smile Digital Health to continue its growth trajectory and expand its impact on global health, making healthcare data more accessible and actionable for patients and providers alike.
- • This role offers a unique chance to work with modern cloud technologies in a mission-driven organization that is making a tangible difference in the world. If you are passionate about cloud engineering and eager to contribute to a company that values innovation and social impact, we encourage you to apply.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud-native architectures and services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), including the creation and management of HELM charts.
- • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- • Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.
- • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning, including access to training and certifications.
- • Remote work flexibility within the US, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
- • Be part of a mission-driven company making a significant impact on global health.
