- • As a Cloud FinOps Engineer at Allstate, you will play a pivotal role in aligning technology spending with business value by driving financial governance and cost optimization across cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid environments. Your work will directly impact enterprise-wide cost efficiency, enabling smarter architectural decisions and sustainable cloud adoption while supporting Allstate’s mission to protect families through innovative, responsible technology stewardship.
- • You will deliver actionable intelligence on resource utilization and cost trends across AWS, Azure, on-prem infrastructure, and SaaS platforms, identifying savings opportunities through workload right-sizing, licensing optimization, and strategic vendor negotiations. You will oversee enterprise discount programs including Compute Savings Plans and Reserved Instances, ensuring maximum return on cloud investments.
- • Collaborating closely with engineering teams, you will influence architecture decisions by integrating FinOps principles into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) workflows, embedding cost governance into the software development lifecycle to promote proactive cost awareness and automation.
- • You will extend FinOps methodologies beyond public cloud to include data centers, enterprise software licensing, and SaaS subscriptions, developing frameworks for cost transparency and optimization across all technology spend categories to enable holistic financial accountability.
- • Through data analysis, you will investigate usage patterns and anomalies, creating KPIs, dashboards, and reports that measure financial performance and operational efficiency, empowering finance, engineering, and business leaders with insights for strategic decision-making.
- • You will lead advisory sessions with cross-functional stakeholders in engineering, finance, and business units to align technical initiatives with financial objectives, while configuring and managing cost optimization tools to ensure scalability, automation, and consistent application of FinOps practices enterprise-wide.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of engineering experience with hands-on proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and familiarity with on-premises and hybrid architectures.
- • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, Terraform, and API integration to embed cost controls into engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- • Strong data analysis capabilities with experience using Excel, BI platforms, and cost management solutions (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth, Finout) to derive insights and build reporting.
- • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with proven ability to engage technical, financial, and business stakeholders to drive alignment on cost optimization initiatives.
- • Experience applying FinOps principles in cloud and broader IT environments, including knowledge of enterprise discount programs, commitment plans, and licensing optimization strategies.
- • FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Engineer, or TBM certification is highly desirable.
