📋 Description

• As a Cloud Operation Engineer at CSG Systems International, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of enterprise-grade server infrastructures across hybrid cloud environments. This position is essential to maintaining the reliability of systems that power mission-critical applications for global clients, directly contributing to business continuity and operational excellence.
• You will design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure spanning on-premise data centers and public clouds such as AWS and Azure, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across environments.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting operating systems (Linux RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu and Windows Server), virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and legacy systems like IBM AS400/iSeries, while maintaining enterprise-grade backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• You will develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash to streamline system administration, configuration management (via Ansible, Puppet, or Chef), and infrastructure-as-code practices, reducing manual effort and increasing consistency.
• Proactive monitoring of system performance using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, and Grafana will be key to identifying bottlenecks, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring high availability and uptime SLAs.
• You will collaborate closely with development, network, and security teams to support application deployments, resolve incidents, and enforce security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance standards across all managed systems.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior administrators will be expected, fostering knowledge sharing and team growth through guidance on complex troubleshooting and infrastructure optimization.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for critical incident response is required, ensuring rapid resolution of production issues outside regular business hours.
• You will document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to maintain operational knowledge and support audit and compliance requirements.
• The role involves evaluating emerging technologies and recommending innovations that improve system efficiency, reliability, and scalability, positioning CSG at the forefront of infrastructure modernization.
• Working remotely from Brazil, you will join a global team of CSGers committed to integrity, innovation, and impact, helping world-class brands deliver seamless digital experiences through reliable, secure, and high-performing technology platforms.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in enterprise systems administration.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and maintaining complex server infrastructures in enterprise-level environments, with strong expertise in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration.
• Proven experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Demonstrated experience with AWS IaaS and PaaS services; familiarity with Azure is considered a plus.
• Solid scripting ability using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine tasks, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancing) and experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Familiarity with enterprise backup/disaster recovery solutions and database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) is expected.
• Knowledge of IBM AS400/iSeries systems is required for legacy environment support.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration in distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in English in a business context is mandatory for documentation, reporting, and stakeholder interaction.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, MCSA, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate) are advantageous but not required.
