📋 Description

• As a Cloud Platform Engineer Expert at Allstate, you will play a critical role in building, operating, and evolving the cloud infrastructure that powers the company’s digital transformation, enabling secure, scalable, and resilient applications that protect millions of customers.
• You will serve as a technical anchor and mentor within engineering teams, driving best practices in cloud-native development, automation, and operational excellence while fostering collaboration through paired programming and knowledge sharing.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, managing, and operating cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and continuous delivery pipelines using Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• You will lead the development and maintenance of self-service platforms and tools that empower application teams to deploy, monitor, and manage cloud-native applications efficiently and securely.
• You will implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using industry-standard tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Azure Monitor, and open-source platforms to ensure full visibility and proactive issue resolution across platform components.
• You will evaluate performance trends, forecast demand, and establish scalability plans while troubleshooting complex availability and performance issues across hardware, network, operating systems, and application layers.
• You will integrate open-source components and develop new services to minimize friction in developer workflows, ensuring seamless interaction with platform and application services.
• You will recommend and maintain technology policies and procedures, mentor team members in Extreme Programming (XP), test-driven development, and cloud/as-a-service mindsets, and advocate for engineering practices that improve system and team efficiency.
• You will work across organizational and geographical boundaries, facilitating diverse teams, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results under pressure to meet aggressive delivery targets.

🎯 Requirements

• 7 or more years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, or related fields (preferred), with equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, including deep expertise in Azure Management Groups, Policy, Regions, Availability Zones, VNets, Private Endpoints, and Express Route.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and its integration with Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Compute, IAM, Networking, and image management.
• Proven background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous delivery, test-driven development, and automation using tools like Terraform.
• Ability to mentor team members in Extreme Programming (XP), paired programming, cloud/as-a-service approaches, and infrastructure as code practices.
• Solid experience in software development, cloud solution architecture, and building scalable Azure-based systems.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams, organizational boundaries, and geographical locations.
• Demonstrated ability to identify creative solutions for technical support issues, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure to meet aggressive schedules.

• Base compensation ranging from $134,000 to $200,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, with additional incentive pay (bonus, commission, etc.) as applicable.
