- • Join Twilio Inc. as a Cloud Software Engineer, a pivotal role within our Edge Services team, responsible for the ingestion of Twilio’s Web Console and API traffic, and its supporting services. - • As part of the Edge Platform organization, you will be instrumental in providing the foundational building blocks for all Twilio customers and internal engineers. This requires a deep commitment to delivering services with exceptionally high availability and low latency, capable of handling billions of inbound requests daily.
- • You will be tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure that underpins Twilio’s extensive microservices architecture. This involves a proactive approach to infrastructure management and a keen eye for performance optimization.
- • A core responsibility will be the operation and maintenance of highly available services. You will ensure the continuous operation of systems that handle billions of weekly requests, directly impacting the reliability and performance of Twilio’s offerings.
- • You will leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools, such as Terraform, to automate infrastructure provisioning and management. This ensures consistency, repeatability, and adherence to operational best practices across our cloud environment.
- • Building and optimizing robust CI/CD pipelines is crucial. You will contribute to streamlining the software development lifecycle, enabling continuous integration and deployment to accelerate delivery while maintaining stability.
- • Proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring service uptime are paramount. This includes participating in on-call rotations and leading incident response efforts to quickly resolve any issues that may arise, minimizing impact on our users.

🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience in cloud or DevOps engineering, with proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably Python or Java.
- • Experience in architecting AWS cloud-based solutions, leveraging AWS services such as CloudFront, Lambda, S3, etc.
- • Experience in any infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform.
- • Familiarity with building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Buildkite), optimizing deployments, and maintaining high reliability through SLOs.
- • Exposure to SLO tracking tools such as Datadog, and log management solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Athena, Grafana.
- • Previous exposure to service-oriented architectures, microservices, or REST APIs is highly preferred.
- • Hands-on experience with making changes in production systems for cloud-native database solutions and data pipelines.
- • Ability to collaborate effectively within an agile, fast-paced team, understanding the full software development lifecycle.
- • Strong decision-making skills, balancing the pros and cons of various cloud technologies, with a focus on making practical, scalable choices.
- • Experience in Security such as WAF management, threat assessment (Desired).
- • Experience building self-service platform tools to improve developer experience and improve launch speed for internal teams (Desired).
- • Proficient in Terraform (Desired).
