  • • As a co-op intern, you will join a flat, optimistic, and highly talented team where low ego and collaborative problem-solving are valued, allowing you to take ownership of meaningful work while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment focused on solving hard engineering and operational challenges.
  • • Depending on your assigned role, you may support R&D by building prototypes, maintaining CAD drawings and BOMs, managing Engineering Change Orders, researching components, and assisting in experiment design and validation across mechatronics systems.
  • • In software-focused roles, you will develop and debug robotics applications in C/C++/Python, improve CI/CD pipelines, maintain Linux-based infrastructure, and participate in code reviews to ensure robust and reliable system performance.
  • • Data engineering interns will design and maintain lightweight data warehouses, schedule ELT/ETL pipelines, model data using SQL and/or dbt, and write transformations to support analytics and product improvement initiatives.
  • • Manufacturing interns will assist in production processes, design and build assembly and testing fixtures, improve parts for DFM/DFA, and support transitions between product versions to enhance manufacturability and quality.
  • • Robot Builder interns will assemble subassemblies and complete Trexo devices, test mechanical and electronic components, support inventory management, and contribute to facility maintenance to ensure smooth production flow.
  • • Quality interns will maintain document control in compliance with FDA, Health Canada, and ISO 13485 standards, support internal audits, assist with product testing and inspections, and ensure quality documentation meets regulatory requirements for medical devices.

  • • Marketing interns will support social media campaigns, assist with event logistics and travel coordination for roadshows, and collaborate with sales teams to amplify brand visibility and engagement.
  • • All co-op roles are open to currently enrolled Bachelor’s or Master’s students and typically last 4 to 12 months, with hiring based on team needs and candidate fit.
  • • You will gain direct exposure to real-world product development in a regulated medical device environment, build a professional portfolio, and develop technical and soft skills that are highly valued in engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and operations careers.
  • • By contributing to a product that improves children’s mobility and quality of life, you will experience the deep personal and professional fulfillment of working on technology with tangible humanitarian impact.

About Trexo Robotics Inc.

Trexo Robotics creates wearable robotic devices that help children with mobility disabilities walk independently. The company’s flagship product is a gait-training exoskeleton that straps over a child’s legs and attaches to a walker, converting passive walkers into powered systems that provide repetitive, physiologically correct stepping. Designed for home and clinical use, the device captures data on joint angles, step count, and walking time to guide therapy. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Mississauga, Canada, Trexo combines mechanical engineering, software, and pediatric rehabilitation expertise to improve neuroplasticity, bone health, and quality of life for users with cerebral palsy and similar conditions.
