Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer at Lorikeet Software Pty Ltd, you will serve as the critical technical and strategic bridge between the company’s cutting-edge AI platform and its enterprise customers, directly enabling rapid deployment and maximum value realization from Lorikeet’s AI solutions in high-impact industries such as fintech, healthtech, and marketplace businesses.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading end-to-end AI implementation projects from initial customer discovery and needs assessment through configuration, integration, testing, and successful go-live; acting as an AI expert and evangelist by educating customers on the platform’s capabilities and recommending innovative, non-obvious use cases that extend beyond basic support automation to drive business outcomes; building and configuring custom workflows within Lorikeet’s AI tools using TypeScript, React/Remix, PrismaORM, NestJS, and Python to align with each client’s unique operational goals; collaborating closely with the product team to translate field insights into actionable feedback that shapes short-term feature prioritization and long-term product roadmap; guiding customers through technical implementation challenges with creativity and precision, resolving complex integration issues involving APIs, data pipelines, and legacy systems while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships; and continuously learning and applying emerging AI techniques to solve real-world problems, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor who helps customers unlock transformative experiences for their end users.
- • Lorikeet is a fast-growing, VC-backed AI startup headquartered in Sydney with over USD $50M in funding from top-tier investors including QED, Blackbird, Square Peg, and notable angels such as ex-Stripe COO Claire Hughes Johnson and Brex CTO Cos Nicolaescu; the company serves enterprise clients including the largest telehealth provider in Australia, the largest US teen bank, a leading NFT marketplace, and multiple virtual care and fintech platforms processing over 1 million support tickets annually, giving you direct exposure to high-stakes, complex AI deployments at scale.
- • You will be part of a warm, mature, and flexible culture that values low ego, high trust, and user obsession over traditional credentials, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion; this role offers unparalleled agency to shape not only individual customer successes but also Lorikeet’s overall deployment methodology, product direction, and customer success framework as an early team member in a high-impact, high-growth environment.
- • In this role, you will rapidly develop deep expertise in applied AI implementation, enterprise SaaS deployment, and technical consulting — gaining hands-on experience with modern full-stack technologies while learning how to translate complex AI capabilities into tangible business value; you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position in customer-facing technical roles, potentially evolving into a specialist in AI solution architecture, technical account management, or product strategy, all while working on problems that push the boundaries of what AI-first SaaS products can achieve.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2-5 years of client-facing experience in management consulting, technical implementation, or similar roles involving direct customer engagement and project delivery
- • Technical background, training, or mindset — demonstrated through CS/engineering education, math/stats proficiency, or proven ability to learn and apply technical skills (e.g., building with low/no-code tools, data analysis, scripting); prior software engineering experience is useful but not required
- • Strong project leadership abilities with a track record of independently driving complex technical solutions to completion, showing organization, reliability, and high agency in ambiguous environments
- • Proven experience building and managing stakeholder relationships with external clients, including the ability to listen actively, communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, and influence outcomes through collaboration
- • Genuine excitement about AI, demonstrated through hands-on tinkering (e.g., ChatGPT power use, personal AI projects, experimentation with LLMs or AI tools) and a desire to apply AI creatively to solve real-world problems
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary benchmarked against unicorn and scale-up companies, paired with a potentially life-changing equity stake in Lorikeet, giving you direct ownership in the company’s success
- • Access to a modern, cutting-edge tech stack including TypeScript, React/Remix, PrismaORM, NestJS, and Python, with opportunities to work on AI-first SaaS innovation at the forefront of the industry
- • Flexible, trust-based work culture that prioritizes efficiency and work-life harmony, with no tolerance for toxic behavior and strong support for diverse backgrounds and non-traditional career paths
- • Paid two-day work trial as part of the recruitment process, allowing you to experience real work at Lorikeet before committing, ensuring mutual fit and transparency
- • Direct exposure to senior leadership and investors through monthly company updates shared with the team, fostering transparency and a sense of ownership as an early employee in a rapidly scaling startup
