  • • As a Collections Representative at Accendra Health, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization by diligently following up on unpaid claims with insurance companies and patients.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to investigate overdue account balances that remain fully or partially unpaid, employing a proactive approach through both mail and phone communication with insurance carriers and customers.
  • • You will meticulously review unpaid and underpaid claims, identifying the root causes of payment delays and taking appropriate action, which may include resubmitting claims or initiating formal appeals to secure rightful reimbursement.
  • • A key aspect of your role involves verifying payment information and promptly communicating any discrepancies or necessary adjustments to your supervisor, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our billing processes.
  • • You will be instrumental in coordinating collection activities for delinquent accounts, preparing comprehensive information packages for external collection agencies or legal counsel when necessary, always adhering to legal and contractual guidelines.
  • • A strong commitment to compliance is essential, as you will be required to strictly adhere to the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act (FDCPA) and all other relevant regulations, maintaining ethical and professional conduct in all interactions.
  • • You will serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries regarding their account status, providing clear, accurate, and timely information to resolve concerns and maintain positive relationships.
  • • Thorough research of customer accounts will be a daily task, requiring you to delve into payment histories, insurance details, and any relevant documentation to fully understand the situation and formulate effective collection strategies.
  • • Documenting all collection activities accurately and comprehensively within the billing system is paramount, ensuring a clear audit trail and facilitating ongoing account management.
  • • You will be responsible for resolving discrepancies, processing necessary adjustments, and initiating refunds when warranted, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
  • • A proactive approach to identifying recurring issues within the collections process is encouraged, and you will be expected to bring these to the attention of your department supervisor to contribute to process improvements.
  • • You will initiate payments and resubmit bills as needed, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in place and that follow-up actions are taken promptly.
  • • In instances where insurance coverage is insufficient or denied, you will pursue patient payment obligations, acting in accordance with legal permissions and contractual agreements, always with professionalism and empathy.
  • • Maintaining reliable and consistent attendance, reporting to work punctually at your assigned start time, is a fundamental expectation of this role, ensuring operational continuity.
