- • Analyze competitive market dynamics to identify trends, threats, and opportunities impacting Protective Life Corporation’s insurance and financial products.
- • Collect, synthesize, and interpret data from public filings, industry reports, competitor websites, press releases, and third-party market intelligence sources.
- • Monitor competitor pricing strategies, product launches, distribution channels, marketing campaigns, and customer messaging across multiple platforms.
- • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence dashboards and reports that translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership and product teams.
- • Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Underwriting teams to align competitive insights with strategic decision-making.
- • Conduct regular benchmarking analyses comparing Protective Life’s offerings against key competitors in life insurance, annuities, and supplemental products.
- • Track regulatory changes and industry shifts that may influence competitor behavior or market positioning.
- • Prepare executive summaries and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting key competitive threats and strategic recommendations.
- • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness by validating sources and cross-referencing information across multiple channels.
- • Maintain a centralized repository of competitive intelligence assets, including historical data, competitor profiles, and analysis templates.
- • Proactively identify emerging competitors or disruptive market entrants in the life insurance and financial services sector.
- • Support ad-hoc research requests from cross-functional teams with rapid-turnaround analysis and clear, data-driven conclusions.
- • Participate in quarterly business reviews by presenting competitive landscape updates and their implications for company strategy.
- • Stay current on industry developments through attendance at webinars, conferences, and professional associations related to insurance and financial services.
- • Adhere to internal compliance and data governance policies when handling sensitive or proprietary information.
- • Work closely with the Strategy and Corporate Development teams to inform M&A evaluation and partnership opportunities based on competitive positioning.
- • Translate competitive insights into actionable recommendations for product differentiation, pricing adjustments, and go-to-market strategies.
- • Document methodologies and processes to ensure knowledge continuity and team scalability.
- • Maintain strict confidentiality of internal and external competitive data in alignment with corporate policies.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field
- • Minimum of 3 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis within the insurance or financial services industry
- • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- • Strong ability to synthesize large volumes of unstructured data into clear, actionable insights
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting findings to senior leadership
- • Demonstrated experience using public and proprietary sources to track competitor activity
