đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Campus LLC as a dedicated CompTIA Teaching Assistant and become an integral part of our mission to provide high-quality, accessible online education. In this vital role, you will directly influence the academic journey of students pursuing CompTIA certifications through our live, online college courses. You will be more than just a grader; you will be a mentor, a guide, and a crucial support system for students navigating the complexities of IT education.
  • • As a Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment for a cohort of 30-40 students per 11-week online course. This involves a multifaceted approach to student success, encompassing academic support, motivational coaching, and community building. You will work closely with the lead Instructor, integrating seamlessly into the instructional team to ensure that every student receives timely, constructive feedback and personalized academic guidance.
  • • Your academic responsibilities are diverse and impactful. You will be tasked with supporting and grading assignments, providing detailed feedback that not only assesses understanding but also guides students toward improvement and mastery of the subject matter. This grading process is a critical touchpoint for identifying students who may need additional support or encouragement.
  • • Beyond grading, you will serve as a dedicated mentor and coach. This means actively engaging with students to help them not only acquire new technical skills but also develop the professional habits and critical thinking abilities essential for success in the IT industry. You will be a sounding board for their challenges and a cheerleader for their achievements.
  • • Attendance at all live lectures within the 11-week online course is expected, allowing you to stay fully abreast of the curriculum and instructor's emphasis. This presence ensures you can effectively reinforce key concepts and address student queries that arise from the lecture material.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will be leading discussion sections. These sessions are designed to deepen students' understanding of core concepts, encourage peer-to-peer learning, and provide a platform for interactive problem-solving. Your ability to facilitate engaging discussions will be key to reinforcing the week's learning objectives.
  • • To further support student learning and build a strong sense of community, you will host weekly office hours. These sessions offer a dedicated time for students to ask questions, seek clarification, and engage in more in-depth discussions with you, fostering a more personal connection and reinforcing their commitment to the course.
  • • Proactive and timely communication is paramount. You will be expected to communicate regularly with your assigned students, responding to messages and inquiries promptly. This consistent communication helps students feel supported and connected, reducing feelings of isolation common in online learning environments.
  • • A crucial element of your role is to help students maintain motivation and cultivate strong academic habits. This involves identifying potential roadblocks, offering encouragement, and providing strategies for effective time management and study techniques, ensuring they remain on track to complete the course successfully.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Campus LLC's commitment to serving students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those historically underserved by higher education. Your role in their academic journey is not just about teaching IT skills, but about empowering them to achieve their educational and career aspirations.
  • • The flexibility of this remote role allows you to integrate this rewarding experience into your existing schedule, making a tangible difference in the lives of aspiring IT professionals. You will gain invaluable experience in online pedagogy, student mentorship, and curriculum support, all while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology, or a closely related field.
  • • Demonstrated experience in teaching, tutoring, or training, specifically within Information Technology or a related technical domain.
  • • Possession of a relevant CompTIA certification (e.g., Security+, Network+, A+, or equivalent).
  • • Currently pursuing a graduate degree or actively working in a technical or business role within the IT sector.
  • • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • • A genuine passion for student success and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • • Proficiency with digital learning platforms, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and video conferencing tools.
  • • Availability to commit approximately 4-6 hours per week to course support, with some flexibility for initial training and onboarding.

  • • Faculty Mentorship: Benefit from direct collaboration and guidance from experienced college instructors, offering insights into effective teaching strategies and curriculum development.
  • • Impactful Work: Make a significant difference in the lives of students from diverse and historically underserved communities, contributing to greater equity in higher education.
