Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the development and deployment of advanced computer vision models including object detection, multi-object tracking, camera calibration, and semantic segmentation for player tracking across multiple sports at professional and collegiate scales.
- • Build and scale high-performance data pipelines for video and image ingestion, processing, and analysis that meet the demands of large-scale sports programs.
- • Contribute across the full computer vision and machine learning lifecycle—from data gathering and model development to training, production deployment, monitoring, and iterative refinement.
- • Drive R&D initiatives in 3D body pose tracking, real-time analysis systems, and integration with LLM/NLP research, with autonomy to explore within project scope.
- • Design and implement modular, maintainable software architectures for complex CV/ML pipelines, prioritizing system reliability and scalability over prototype-only solutions.
- • Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, Product, and Data Ops teams to ensure technical outputs are understood, integrated, and effectively utilized by coaches, players, and front office personnel.
- • Work in a small, highly technical team focused on applied research where models are shipped to real-world users in competitive sports environments.
- • Utilize cloud computing platforms (AWS or similar) and optimize models using CUDA for GPU acceleration in Linux environments.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders to ensure downstream teams can act on model outputs with accuracy and confidence.
- • Participate in end-to-end product development cycles where research directly impacts performance analytics used by top-tier athletic programs.
- • Leverage Teamworks’ investment in AI tooling and infrastructure to work at the frontier of sports technology with access to extensive video datasets and computational resources.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Teamworks’ Coaching product line, which integrates technology from Telemetry Sports, Sportlogiq, Zelus Analytics, and PFF to power player tracking and performance insights.
- • Operate in Eastern or Central Time zones within the United States or Canada, with flexibility to work at either Computer Vision Researcher I or II levels based on experience.
🎯 Requirements
- • Hands-on proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV for production-grade computer vision applications
- • Demonstrated experience taking CV/ML models through the full lifecycle: development, training, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing refinement in real-world systems
- • Ability to design and implement modular, maintainable software architectures for complex CV/ML pipelines
- • Cloud computing experience with AWS or similar platforms, plus working knowledge of Linux environments and CUDA for GPU optimization
- • Ability to communicate complex technical work clearly to non-technical partners
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on applied research with direct impact on professional and collegiate sports performance analytics
- • Access to extensive AI tooling and computational resources to support frontier-level research
- • Autonomy to drive R&D initiatives within project scope, including integration with LLM/NLP and real-time systems
- • Work within a team that ships production systems used by top-tier sports organizations worldwide
