đź“‹ Description
- • Join Second Dinner, an award-winning independent game development studio renowned for its critically acclaimed titles, including MARVEL SNAP, which garnered Mobile Game of the Year from The Game Awards and DICE, Best Strategy Game from IGN, and the Apple Design Award for Innovation. This is your opportunity to contribute to our legacy of excellence and be part of a team that consistently pushes the boundaries of interactive entertainment.
- • We are embarking on an exciting journey to create a brand new, "Ultra Fun" game. This ambitious project is envisioned as a major, multiplatform (with a mobile-first approach), free-to-play title designed for long-term player engagement and enjoyment. It will blend familiar elements that resonate with fans of our previous work with groundbreaking, innovative concepts that venture into entirely new creative territories.
- • As a Principal UI/UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user interface and user experience of this unannounced game from its nascent stages. Your contributions will be instrumental in defining the game's core player journey, ensuring it is intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling.
- • You will be responsible for providing a clear and compelling vision for the game's UI/UX, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with the overarching creative direction and the ambitious player experience goals. This involves translating abstract game concepts into tangible, user-centered design solutions.
- • A key aspect of this role is rapid prototyping. You will be expected to quickly iterate on ideas, test various flows, layouts, and interaction models to validate design choices and gather early feedback. This iterative approach is crucial for a prototype team focused on swift development and discovery.
- • You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including talented game designers, visionary artists, and skilled developers. Your ability to integrate UI/UX seamlessly into the overall game design, fostering a cohesive and unified player experience, will be paramount.
- • You will actively incorporate player feedback throughout the development lifecycle. This includes designing and conducting user tests, analyzing data, and utilizing insights to refine and optimize the UI/UX, ensuring the game is accessible, deep, and enjoyable for a broad audience.
- • The creation of interactive prototypes and wireframes will be a core responsibility, serving as essential tools for testing, communication, and iterating on design concepts before full-scale implementation.
- • You will drive the visual consistency and quality of the UI across all target platforms and devices, including mobile and PC, ensuring a polished and cohesive brand experience regardless of the player's chosen hardware.
- • This role demands a "low-ego, high-iteration" mindset. You will be expected to both provide and receive constructive feedback effectively, contributing to a collaborative environment where ideas are openly shared and refined for the betterment of the game.
- • Your work will directly impact the look and feel of the game, ensuring it is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and emotionally resonant with players.
- • You will have the opportunity to work directly within a game engine, allowing for hands-on implementation and a deep understanding of how your designs translate into the final product.
- • This is a unique chance to help shape the UI/UX of a potential blockbuster title from its inception, influencing its trajectory and ultimate success.
- • You will be joining a "scrappy" and experienced prototype team that thrives on bold ideas, rapid iteration, and a shared passion for creating the next generation of cross-platform free-to-play games.
- • We hold a high regard for the craft of UI/UX design, recognizing its critical role in building accessible games with significant depth.
- • This is a contract role with the potential for extension and eventual transition to a permanent position, offering a stable yet dynamic career path within a growing studio.
- • The role is fully remote, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere.
- • You will be instrumental in building something entirely new, a game that has the potential to capture the attention of the global gaming community.
- • This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $90 - $100 USD, reflecting your expertise and the significant impact you will have on this groundbreaking project.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience crafting intuitive and engaging User Interfaces for PC and/or Mobile games.
- • Ability to render high-quality UI elements and a strong understanding of visual design principles.
- • Experience working directly within a game engine (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is highly desirable.
- • A portfolio showcasing a strong understanding of UI/UX principles, interaction design, and visual execution in games.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive hourly rate ($90 - $100 USD).
