đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Controller at CodeRabbit, Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the financial foundation of a pioneering research and development company focused on creating next-generation Gen AI-driven code reviewers. This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the VP of Finance, where you will own the entire accounting function from the ground up. Your mission will be to transition accounting in-house, migrate from QuickBooks to a more robust ERP system, establish critical internal controls, and build the essential financial infrastructure to support CodeRabbit's hyper-scaling international growth.
  • • You will be the primary owner of the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring unparalleled accuracy, strict adherence to deadlines, and full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes the meticulous preparation and review of financial statements, comprehensive management reporting packages, and insightful variance analyses. A key aspect of your role will involve close collaboration with department leaders, reviewing monthly financial results, and dissecting key performance drivers to provide clarity and strategic direction.
  • • Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, the chart of accounts, and the company's accounting policies will be a core responsibility, ensuring a solid and well-organized financial framework.
  • • A significant focus will be placed on Revenue Recognition and Metrics Integrity. You will ensure precise revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, navigating complex scenarios such as self-serve and enterprise sales motions, usage-based billing, plan migrations, contract modifications, and intricate hybrid pricing models. You will work hand-in-hand with FP&A and Revenue Operations to meticulously reconcile financial system data with critical operating metrics like Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Net Revenue Retention (NRR), and cohort retention, guaranteeing data accuracy across all go-to-market strategies.
  • • As a strategic Business Partner, you will collaborate closely with business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and proactive cash flow planning. You will provide crucial financial insights that underpin pricing strategies, support major strategic initiatives, and inform critical operating decisions. Your expertise will also be vital in supporting board reporting, investor updates, and rigorous diligence requests.
  • • In Accounting Operations, you will oversee the critical functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management. This includes managing the complexities of multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, ensuring seamless intercompany transactions and appropriate transfer pricing.
  • • A major undertaking will be Systems & Process Scaling. You will lead the charge in bringing accounting fully in-house and spearhead the transition from QuickBooks to a sophisticated ERP system, such as Rillet or Campfire. This involves establishing, documenting, and rigorously enforcing accounting policies and procedures, and building highly scalable processes designed to accommodate rapid increases in headcount and transaction volume.
  • • You will manage Tax-related activities, including overseeing relationships with external tax advisors and coordinating federal, state, and international tax compliance. This also extends to managing sales tax and VAT obligations across various jurisdictions, coordinating R&D tax credit studies, and contributing to broader tax planning initiatives.
  • • Establishing robust Internal Controls & Compliance is paramount. You will design, implement, and maintain internal controls that are appropriate for a rapidly growing, international company. A key milestone will be driving the company’s first Big 4 audit to a successful conclusion.
  • • In Banking & Treasury, you will oversee banking and investment accounts, ensuring timely reconciliations and maintaining stringent cash controls.
  • • As a leader, you will recruit, manage, and mentor the accounting team, fostering an environment of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional growth. You will cultivate a culture of accountability and collaboration, aligning the team with CodeRabbit's innovative and fast-paced ethos.
  • • This role demands a hands-on approach, requiring you to roll up your sleeves while also possessing the strategic vision to lead and mentor. You will leverage AI tools to enhance accounting workflows and thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous environment with high ownership expectations, contributing directly to CodeRabbit's mission of building extraordinarily productive human-machine collaboration systems.
