📋 Description

• The Controls Engineer serves as the technical and analytical bridge between Operations Technology (OT) and enterprise analytics, owning the end-to-end flow of operational data from historians and SCADA systems through to cloud storage and business intelligence to transform raw plant data into trusted, actionable insights that power operational excellence and future AI initiatives.
• Day to day, the role involves designing, scripting, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS services; troubleshooting data flow disruptions and historian tag failures; developing reusable data models, APIs, and standardized data structures; and collaborating with plant engineers, OT, and IT teams to ensure secure, reliable data pipelines.
• Prysmian is a global leader in energy and telecom cable systems with 30,000 employees across 50+ countries, manufacturing thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables, power transmission systems, medium low voltage cables, optical fibers, and copper cables for voice, video, and data transmission.
• The role offers the opportunity to define the digital data backbone of the manufacturing network, build systems enabling operational visibility and AI-driven manufacturing intelligence, and grow into Data Architecture and Systems Strategy leadership while mentoring junior analysts and building local data literacy.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in a Controls Engineer role
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or engineering
• Experience with AVEVA, Ignition, PLC tags
• Willingness to travel at least 50%
