đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Controls Engineering Team Leader at Prysmian S.p.A., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical control systems across multiple manufacturing facilities in North America. Your leadership directly supports the production of critical infrastructure components—including power transmission cables, submarine cables, and telecom fiber optics—that enable global energy and communication networks. This role is essential to maintaining operational excellence in a world-leading cable manufacturer where precision engineering impacts everything from renewable energy integration to smart grid resilience.
  • • You will lead the design, development, supervision, and technical support of all electrical control systems, including PLC programming, motor control hardware, and equipment modernization initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring maintenance technicians, managing cross-functional projects from concept to installation, troubleshooting complex electrical failures using diagnostic tools, developing and debugging control logic, analyzing schematics at the component level, managing external contractors and vendors, overseeing spare parts inventory, ensuring compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes, preparing capital budget inputs, documenting all work meticulously, and driving standardization efforts across motors, drives, and electronic components. You will also collaborate closely with Operations and Engineering teams to solve manufacturing bottlenecks, implement productivity improvements, and identify future automation opportunities—all while traveling up to 25% to support regional plants.
  • • You will join a global engineering organization within Prysmian, a Fortune 500 company with 30,000+ employees operating in over 50 countries. The North America Engineering team is known for its technical depth, commitment to innovation, and culture of continuous improvement. As a leader in this team, you’ll work alongside skilled electricians, control technicians, and project engineers in a collaborative, safety-first environment where your expertise is valued and your decisions have tangible impact on plant uptime and product quality.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in industrial automation, power electronics, and manufacturing systems while developing leadership and project management capabilities. You’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge control technologies (including Aveva/Wonderware systems), influence standardization across a multinational footprint, and contribute directly to Prysmian’s Social Ambition 2030 goals through inclusive leadership and technical mentorship. This position offers a clear path to grow into broader engineering management or technical director roles within a globally recognized industrial leader.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, with wire and cable industry experience highly desirable
  • • Advanced proficiency in PLC programming and CAD software; experience with Aveva/Wonderware is a strong plus

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to work remotely with required travel (up to 25%) to support multiple manufacturing sites across North America
  • • Access to Prysmian’s global learning and development resources, including technical training and leadership programs
  • • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement savings with company match, and paid time off
  • • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) as a core value, with active support for employee resource groups and equitable career advancement
