Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the entire UK expansion from zero to a multi-site, revenue-generating operation. You will be the first boots on the ground, the first revenue booked, and the first team hired—everything that happens in the UK happens because you made it happen.
  • • Start by personally running the first robot deployments on live construction sites so you absorb every nuance of our vertically-integrated model. Expect to spend mornings in steel-toe boots troubleshooting a mortar pump and afternoons on Zoom with billion-pound developers closing the next deal.
  • • Translate early pilot successes into repeatable commercial playbooks. You will define pricing, service-level agreements, deployment cadences, and risk-mitigation strategies that let us scale from one site to ten without dropping quality or safety.
  • • Build and lead a cross-functional UK team—robot operators, field technicians, deployment managers, and sales support—starting with Dutch seed members and growing to 20+ within 12 months. You are the culture carrier; every hire should feel like they just joined a mission, not a job.
  • • Generate and protect a robust sales pipeline. Our product sells itself once prospects see it, but you must hustle to get those first site visits booked, negotiate master-service agreements, and keep demand perpetually ahead of supply.
  • • Establish the physical footprint: select and lease a small London HQ, negotiate a regional maintenance hub, and design the spare-parts logistics network that keeps robots running across multiple counties. You decide where we spend every pound of capex.
  • • Stand up the legal, regulatory, and insurance stack required to operate robotics on British construction sites. You will incorporate entities, classify workers, satisfy HSE, and work with insurers who have never priced risk for autonomous bricklaying before.
  • • Serve as the primary liaison between UK customers and our Amsterdam product & engineering teams. You will translate site feedback into feature specs and prioritize bugs that block revenue today versus features that unlock revenue tomorrow.
  • • Manage a remote robot fleet in real time. You will define telemetry dashboards, preventative-maintenance schedules, and on-call rotations so that a robot in Manchester can be diagnosed and patched from Amsterdam at 2 a.m. without waking you up.
  • • Report directly to the founders on P&L, cash burn, and hiring velocity. Your board slides are whatever you decide they need to be—sometimes a Notion page, sometimes a Loom video—because speed beats polish.
  • • Travel frequently to the Netherlands during onboarding (expect 50 % of your first three months there) and maintain a quarterly cadence afterward to keep culture, product roadmap, and investor narratives tightly aligned.
  • • Champion an obsessive safety culture. Construction is dangerous; robotics is new. You will write the incident-response protocols, run the toolbox talks, and ensure every subcontractor we work with trusts that our robots make their job safer, not riskier.
  • • Celebrate wins loudly—whether that’s the first wall laid entirely by robots or the first ÂŁ5 M contract signed—and use those stories to recruit the next wave of talent and customers. You are Monumental’s evangelist in every pub, podcast, and industry dinner in the UK.
