- • Serverfarm is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Facilities Technician to join our dynamic team in Suwanee, GA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continuous and optimal operation of our state-of-the-art data center facilities, which serve as the backbone for the world's leading technology and hyperscale companies. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be at the forefront of maintaining the complex infrastructure that powers digital innovation, playing a crucial role in our mission to revolutionize data center operations across North America, Western Europe, and Israel.
- • This position operates on a rotating shift schedule, demanding flexibility and a commitment to providing 24/7 coverage for our critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for the proactive monitoring, preventative maintenance, and rapid response to any issues that may arise within the facility's essential systems. Your keen attention to detail will be paramount in identifying potential problems before they impact operations, ensuring the highest levels of uptime and reliability for our clients.
- • Your core responsibilities will include the hands-on maintenance and operation of critical building systems, with a particular emphasis on HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and backup electrical systems. This encompasses a wide range of tasks, from routine inspections and testing of generators, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units, and switchgear, to the troubleshooting and repair of cooling systems, chillers, CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioner) units, and associated piping and controls.
- • You will perform regular preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures, meticulously documenting all activities, findings, and resolutions. This includes conducting system checks, calibrating sensors, replacing filters, and performing lubrication on mechanical equipment. Your ability to follow detailed checklists and maintain accurate logs is essential for compliance, performance tracking, and future maintenance planning.
- • A significant part of your role will involve responding to alarms and system alerts, diagnosing the root cause of any malfunctions, and implementing effective solutions to restore systems to normal operation. This requires a calm and methodical approach under pressure, as well as strong problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.
- • You will also be involved in the monitoring of building management systems (BMS) and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools to track environmental conditions, power usage, and equipment status. Understanding and interpreting the data provided by these systems will be key to identifying trends, optimizing performance, and anticipating potential issues.
- • Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role. You will work closely with other facilities team members, IT personnel, and external vendors to ensure seamless operations and efficient problem resolution. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is vital for coordinating tasks, reporting on system status, and sharing knowledge within the team.
- • Safety is non-negotiable. You will adhere strictly to all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations. Your commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues will be a critical aspect of your performance.
- • As Serverfarm is experiencing explosive growth, driven by the increasing demand for data center capacity due to AI adoption and cloud migration, you will be part of a forward-thinking organization. This presents unique opportunities for professional development, skill enhancement, and career advancement. You will contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of a company that is shaping the future of digital infrastructure.
- • This role requires a proactive mindset, a dedication to excellence, and a passion for maintaining critical systems. If you are a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical aptitude and a desire to be part of a rapidly growing, innovative company, we encourage you to apply.
