📋 Description
- • Serve as the primary cultural expert for Lindblad Expeditions’ voyages in the Canadian Arctic, delivering in-depth knowledge of Indigenous cultures, history, traditions, and contemporary life in the region.
- • Design and deliver engaging, educational presentations and nightly recaps to guests aboard expedition ships, tailored to the daily itinerary and cultural context of the Arctic.
- • Lead and facilitate off-ship excursions, providing on-the-ground interpretation of cultural sites, historical landmarks, and community interactions.
- • Collaborate closely with the Field Staff team to ensure seamless integration of cultural programming into the overall guest experience, including coordination with naturalists and expedition leaders.
- • Engage directly with guests during meals, informal gatherings, and shore activities, fostering meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange in a close-quarters, multinational environment.
- • Maintain and assist with the care, organization, and readiness of Field Staff equipment, supplies, and shared living spaces aboard expedition vessels.
- • Adapt daily responsibilities dynamically based on changing itineraries, weather conditions, and guest interests, requiring flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.
- • Represent Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to responsible, respectful tourism.
- • Ensure all cultural interpretations are accurate, current, and grounded in collaboration with local Indigenous communities where applicable.
- • Work extended and irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, aligned with expedition schedules and guest activities.
- • Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and interpersonal skills, as the role requires constant interaction with guests and crew in confined living and working conditions.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cultural programming by providing feedback and suggestions based on guest engagement and field experience.
- • Uphold the company’s mission of “Exhilaration of Discovery” by inspiring guests through authentic, immersive cultural storytelling.
- • Participate in pre-voyage training sessions and orientation programs to align with expedition goals, safety protocols, and cultural guidelines.
- • Support the overall guest experience by being a knowledgeable, approachable, and enthusiastic resource on all matters related to Canadian Arctic culture and heritage.

- • Demonstrated expertise in the culture, history, and natural history of the Canadian Arctic
- • Eligibility for contract employment with Lindblad Expeditions as specified in the role’s requirements
