📋 Description
- • Serve as the primary cultural expert for Lindblad Expeditions voyages in the Canadian Arctic, delivering in-depth knowledge of Indigenous cultures, history, traditions, and contemporary life in the region.
- • Design and deliver engaging, educational presentations and evening recaps to guests aboard expedition ships, tailored to the specific itinerary and cultural context of the Canadian Arctic.
- • Lead and facilitate off-ship excursions, providing on-the-ground interpretation of cultural sites, artifacts, and community interactions during landings and shore visits.
- • Collaborate closely with the Field Staff team to ensure seamless integration of cultural programming into the overall guest experience, aligning with expedition goals and safety protocols.
- • Interact directly with guests during meals, informal gatherings, and onboard activities, fostering meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange in a close-quarters, multinational environment.
- • Maintain and assist with the care, organization, and readiness of Field Staff equipment, educational materials, and cultural resources used during expeditions.
- • Adapt daily responsibilities based on dynamic itineraries, weather conditions, and guest interests, requiring flexibility and strong problem-solving skills in remote locations.
- • Represent Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to ethical storytelling and respectful engagement with Indigenous communities.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cultural programming by providing feedback on guest engagement, content effectiveness, and logistical needs after each voyage.
- • Work extended and irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, aligned with expedition schedules and guest activity timelines.
- • Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and interpersonal skills while living and working in close quarters with a diverse team of staff and guests for extended periods.
- • Ensure all cultural interpretations are accurate, current, and grounded in collaboration with local Indigenous knowledge holders where applicable.
- • Support the broader expedition mission by promoting environmental stewardship and cultural preservation through guest education and responsible tourism practices.
