- • As a Customer Success Technical Architect (CSTA) at Confluent, you will be at the forefront of enabling our customers to harness the full power of data in motion. This role is a unique blend of deep technical expertise and strategic customer engagement, designed for individuals who are passionate about solving complex challenges and driving tangible business value through cutting-edge technology.
- • You will serve as a trusted technical advisor and a proactive advocate for our diverse customer base, ranging from innovative startups to large, established enterprises. Your primary mission will be to ensure customer success, foster retention, and drive expansion by providing expert technical guidance and best practices across the Confluent product suite, including Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Confluent’s proprietary innovations.
- • Your responsibilities will span the entire customer lifecycle, from initial architecture planning and design to ongoing operational maturity and advanced utilization. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Support teams to accelerate customer time-to-value, maximize product consumption, and help them achieve their most ambitious business objectives.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to champion the customer's needs and technical insights within Confluent. You will act as the technical voice of the customer, coordinating efforts across various internal departments to resolve blockers, drive adoption, and ensure seamless technical success.
- • You will proactively engage with customers to guide them through critical technical lifecycle activities. This includes assisting with architecture planning, designing secure and robust cluster configurations, implementing effective monitoring strategies, and advising on automation opportunities. Furthermore, you will provide expert guidance on upgrade and migration plans, platform hardening, and high availability designs, ensuring our customers operate resilient and performant data streaming platforms.
- • A significant part of your contribution will be to guide customers up the data streaming maturity curve. This involves recommending advanced technical topics and strategies, such as data mesh architectures, real-time stream processing patterns, utilization optimization techniques, and performance tuning best practices, enabling them to extract maximum value from their Confluent investment.
- • You will be responsible for developing and presenting periodic technical reviews to customers and Confluent senior management. These reviews will analyze the technical health, operational performance, and overall value realization of the customer's Confluent deployment, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- • Knowledge transfer is crucial. You will document best practices, technical solutions, and operational insights, sharing this knowledge with customers to empower their internal teams and with Confluent’s internal teams (Technical Support, Professional Services) to enhance their ability to serve customers effectively.
- • Your deep understanding of customer environments and use cases will be invaluable in influencing the future roadmap of Confluent products. You will provide critical feedback and insights that shape the direction of our technology and innovation.
- • In situations requiring immediate attention, you will not hesitate to roll up your sleeves and collaborate directly with Confluent Technical Support Engineers and Core Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues, demonstrating a commitment to customer success.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- • Proven experience in a technical field role, preferably with a product or SaaS company serving enterprise customers.
- • Strong understanding of modern infrastructure, distributed computing, and streaming technologies, coupled with a passion for tackling complex technical problems in a fast-paced environment.
- • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously, with meticulous attention to detail and a track record of delivering results across customer satisfaction, feature adoption, and retention.
- • Collaborative mindset, with outstanding consulting and relationship management skills, and the ability to rapidly adapt to changing contexts.
- • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud vendor (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- • Solid understanding of cloud networking and security technologies (e.g., VPC, Private Link, Private Service Connect, TLS/SSL, SASL, Kerberos).
- • Experience prototyping and analyzing code for client solutions in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
- • Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting.
- • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting Linux environments (RedHat & Debian based distributions).
- • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and a strong desire to do so.
- • Flexibility to travel up to 20% of the time.
