• • Holman Enterprises is seeking a skilled D365 Functional Developer to join their dynamic team, focusing on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions. This role is crucial for implementing, designing, developing, and extending D365 F&O to meet evolving business needs. You will be instrumental in leveraging standard functionality, configuration, and best-practice extension patterns to create robust and scalable ERP solutions.
• • Your responsibilities will include configuring core D365 F&O modules such as Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse Management, and Sales/Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable. A key aspect of this role involves reviewing the current extension strategy and environment health, including model/package layering and distinguishing between configuration and customization, to propose and implement best practices and recommendations for improved maintainability and performance.
• • You will play a vital role in developing and executing comprehensive plans for scalability, deployment strategies, build pipelines, and source control for D365 F&O solutions. This includes extending D365 F&O functionality using advanced development techniques such as X++ extensions, Data Entities, Business Events, and integrating with the Power Platform where appropriate to enhance system capabilities and streamline business processes.
• • Designing and building integrations is a significant part of this position. You will utilize D365 F&O's established integration patterns, including OData/REST, custom services, the Data Management Framework (DMF) for recurring imports/exports, and Dual-write when applicable. This ensures seamless data flow and interoperability between D365 F&O and other critical business systems.
• • Furthermore, you will develop and modify existing REST APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express to facilitate seamless interfacing between D365 F&O and customer-facing or internal applications, enhancing data accessibility and application connectivity.
• • Establishing robust data backup, recovery, retention, and audit policies aligned with platform capabilities and company requirements is essential for data integrity and compliance. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation that accurately reflects new capabilities, enhancements, and support procedures, ensuring knowledge transfer and system understanding.
• • This role requires a proactive approach to researching complex problems, recommending optimal solutions, and implementing changes that adhere to best practices and platform guardrails. You will focus on building modular, testable solutions and will create and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration testing, to ensure solution quality and reliability.
• • You will provide essential support and maintenance for implemented solutions, which includes troubleshooting, defect fixing, and managing change requests, ensuring sound and effective fixes are designed and implemented. Collaboration with Product Delivery and IT Operations teams is key to successfully delivering and maintaining solutions that align with business objectives.
• • This position demands technical expertise in application architecture, systems design, and enabling ERP business processes through technology. You will actively participate in design reviews, contributing creative and practical ideas and solutions to complex challenges. The role also involves performing other duties and special projects as assigned, offering opportunities for growth and contribution across various initiatives.
• • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, with D365 Finance & Operations certifications being a significant advantage. A minimum of 5 years in web application design and development, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, is required. Strong experience with X++ development, extensions, data entities, DMF, OData/REST integrations, and security concepts is essential. Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps for build/deploy pipelines and source control is also a must. The ability to review and improve solution architecture for maintainability, performance, and scalability, coupled with a strong understanding of ERP business processes, will be critical to success in this role. Experience in the automotive or leasing industry is a plus.
