đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Data Architect at Magnet Forensics, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of our multi-product SaaS platform, spearheading the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient data storage strategies. This pivotal role demands a unique blend of strategic foresight and deep technical acumen, empowering you to define our data architecture vision while actively contributing to its realization through hands-on implementation and problem-solving.
  • • You will play a critical role in unifying our diverse suite of independent products into a cohesive and integrated platform. This involves understanding the intricate data needs of each product, identifying commonalities, and designing a unified data model and infrastructure that supports seamless data flow, interoperability, and enhanced analytical capabilities across the entire platform.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass the entire data lifecycle, from initial design and modeling to implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of our distributed data systems. This includes evaluating and selecting appropriate data storage technologies, defining data governance policies, and ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
  • • You will be instrumental in architecting solutions for high-volume, high-velocity data ingestion, processing, and retrieval, ensuring our platform can handle the demands of digital investigations and forensic analysis at scale.
  • • This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential data-related risks, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges. You will be expected to conduct thorough research into emerging data technologies and methodologies, assessing their applicability and potential benefits for Magnet Forensics.
  • • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and research, to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective architectural designs. This collaborative effort will ensure that our data architecture aligns with business objectives and supports the development of innovative features and functionalities.
  • • Key to this role is the ability to design and implement data solutions that are not only performant and scalable but also cost-effective and maintainable. You will be responsible for defining standards and best practices for data modeling, schema design, data warehousing, and data lake implementations.
  • • You will also be involved in the development and enforcement of data security protocols, ensuring that sensitive investigative data is protected against unauthorized access, breaches, and corruption, in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • • Furthermore, you will contribute to the strategic roadmap for data infrastructure, providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams. This includes mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews for data-related components, and fostering a culture of technical excellence within the organization.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, graph databases, time-series databases). Experience with data streaming technologies, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing solutions is essential.
  • • You will be a key influencer in driving the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the company, by ensuring that reliable, accessible, and actionable data is available to all stakeholders.
  • • This is an opportunity to leave a significant mark on a growing global leader in digital forensics, contributing to tools that help protect communities and fight crime worldwide. Your expertise will directly impact the effectiveness and efficiency of digital investigations, making a tangible difference in critical global efforts.
  • • You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data pipelines, optimizing query performance, and ensuring the reliability and availability of our data services.
  • • The role involves defining and enforcing data quality standards, implementing data validation checks, and establishing monitoring mechanisms to ensure data integrity throughout its lifecycle.
  • • You will also be involved in capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies for our distributed data systems.
  • • Championing data architecture best practices and promoting a data-centric culture throughout the organization will be a core aspect of your contribution.
  • • This position offers a unique chance to work with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and impactful industry, contributing to solutions that have real-world consequences in law enforcement and national security.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar senior data engineering role, with a strong focus on distributed systems and large-scale data platforms.
  • • Deep understanding of data modeling techniques, database design principles (SQL and NoSQL), and data warehousing concepts.
  • • Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) and experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink).
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a meaningful industry.
  • • Professional development and learning opportunities.
  • • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • • Contribute to products that play a crucial role in fighting crime and protecting national security.
