  • • As a Data Engineer at Neara Inc., you will transform raw utility and geospatial data into high-accuracy digital twin models of electricity networks, directly contributing to the safety and resilience of global power grids by enabling utilities to stress-test infrastructure against extreme weather events.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include ingesting and manipulating massive datasets (LiDAR, GIS, asset databases) using Neara’s schema language, performing rigorous QA/QC to ensure engineering-grade accuracy, building custom reports and dashboards for utility engineers, and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to improve deployment processes.
  • • You will join the Deployment Team, a mission-driven group of engineers and data specialists who are passionate about using AI and machine learning to create physics-enabled digital twins of electricity grids across four continents, supporting utilities in optimizing investments and preventing climate-related risks.
  • • In this role, you will gain expert-level proficiency in Neara’s 3D modeling environment, deepen your expertise in geospatial data engineering, influence the product roadmap, and develop advanced skills in schema-based data transformation and automation of core deployment workflows.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Integration Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role
  • • Proficiency in at least one major language (such as SQL, Python, or similar) with demonstrated ability to learn new languages, including Neara’s schema language
  • • Excellent written communication skills with experience contributing to internal knowledge bases and external user manuals, able to articulate technical configurations clearly in fluent English
  • • Background in engineering, mathematics, software engineering, computer science, or a related field; familiarity with GIS, CAD geoprocessing, or LiDAR data is beneficial
  • • Ability to break down complex data discrepancies and systematically reconfigure models to ensure 100% accuracy
