📋 Description

• • Design and implement moderately complex data ingestion pipelines that integrate with internal and external systems to support WEX’s Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform.
• • Develop reusable components for data transformation, validation, and logging to ensure consistency and efficiency across ingestion workflows.
• • Contribute to both batch and streaming data ingestion flows, optimizing for scalability, performance, and maintainability in a distributed environment.
• • Enhance platform observability by improving monitoring, alerting, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure pipeline reliability and rapid incident response.
• • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and incident investigations to uphold engineering standards and foster team knowledge sharing.
• • Partner with data consumers across business domains to understand requirements and translate them into robust, scalable ingestion solutions.
• • Improve automation and testing coverage to reduce manual intervention and increase the overall reliability of data pipelines.
• • Work across multiple data domains and ingestion patterns including batch, streaming, and event-driven architectures to support the full data ecosystem.
• • Build foundational data pipelines that directly enable analytics, automation, and product intelligence across all business units at WEX.
• • Ensure data quality, performance, and governance are embedded into every stage of pipeline development and operation.
• • Support WEX’s ongoing data platform transformation by creating extensible, future-proof infrastructure that scales with growing data volumes and complexity.
• • Apply software engineering best practices to write maintainable, production-ready code in Python, Java, or Scala.
• • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data ingestion strategies with broader organizational data goals and technical roadmaps.
• • Contribute to schema management and data modeling efforts to ensure structured, consistent, and usable data outputs.
• • Leverage CI/CD practices and version control systems to streamline deployment and collaboration across development cycles.
