- • As a Data Engineer focused on DataOps and Infrastructure at Guidewire Software, you will design and automate modern data infrastructure on AWS to support the company’s AI-first Product strategy, including Agentic AI initiatives and next-generation analytics for global P&C insurance customers.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include architecting production-grade data infrastructure using AWS services (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift) with Terraform or CDK, building CI/CD pipelines for dbt and Spark jobs, implementing agentic AI for pipeline monitoring and root-cause analysis, and engineering governed data pipelines using Iceberg, Airflow (MWAA), and Redshift.
- • You will join Guidewire’s Product organization, collaborating across Product Development, Security, and Finance to ensure the data platform is secure, scalable, and ready for rapid innovation in a regulated insurance environment.
- • In this role, you will gain hands-on experience integrating LLMs like Claude Code into engineering workflows, shaping AI-augmented DataOps practices, and directly impacting the reliability and scalability of data for AI-powered products such as Claim Summary and Underwriting Assistant, while advancing your expertise in cloud data infrastructure and responsible AI use.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Operations, or Platform Engineering building and operating cloud data infrastructure
- • Deep proficiency with AWS (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform strongly preferred; CDK a plus)
- • Strong experience with dbt in production (modeling, testing, documentation, deployment) and modern table formats such as Apache Iceberg
- • Advanced SQL skills and solid Python experience for automation, orchestration, and data engineering tasks
- • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for large-scale batch or streaming workloads, ideally on AWS EMR or Glue
- • Proven track record of building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data and analytics workloads
