- • The Lead Data Engineer in Risk Adjustment and Stars Analytics (RASA) at Humana will architect, modernize, and optimize the Part D and PDP data platform to improve reliability, reduce technical debt, and increase engineering efficiency in a complex, evolving environment.
- • Day to day, the role involves leading data engineering solutions in collaboration with business and BI teams, designing and maintaining Databricks pipelines, applying data warehouse and cloud architecture best practices, and ensuring data solutions are scalable, observable, and aligned with business goals.
- • The role sits within the Quality Cost Strategy Analytics (QCSA) organization, which supports enterprise value targets in Trend, Stars, and Risk Adjustment, and works closely with Part D and PDP teams under Provider Programs to drive clinical, revenue, and administrative value through data-driven insights.
- • The individual will gain deep expertise in healthcare data systems, influence cross-functional teams through data-driven persuasion, and develop leadership in enterprise cloud platforms while contributing to improved member experiences and business outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on building scalable data pipelines and architectures
- • Strong aptitude and motivation to grow into enterprise cloud platforms as part of analytic modernization
- • Experience working in Databricks
- • Extensive understanding of star schema, snowflake schema, data architecture, and design principles
- • Strong SQL database design, optimization, ETL design, and execution (or similar orchestration)
- • Expertise in T-SQL, Python, PySpark, and related languages
- • Ability to develop modular, reusable code and tools
- • Ability to thoroughly test and clearly document code
- • Experience creating detailed technical documentation to gain buy-in and drive decisions
- • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project, and technical teams
