📋 Description

• As a Data Engineer at Statista, you will play a critical role in building and enhancing the data publishing infrastructure that powers the world’s leading business data platform, enabling fact-based decision-making for users worldwide.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with data sourcing and architecture teams to design scalable data pipelines, developing automated data orchestration workflows, analyzing and optimizing content and data processes, maintaining high availability and performance of data infrastructure, staying current with AI and automation advancements, and mentoring junior team members while contributing to architectural decisions.
• You will join a diverse, global team headquartered in Hamburg with offices in Berlin, London, New York, and Tokyo, where Statista values inclusivity and continuous growth, offering a culture that celebrates different backgrounds and perspectives.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in ETL, workflow orchestration, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and data modeling, while gaining influence over the evolution of Statista’s data systems and contributing to innovative automation and AI-driven improvements.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience developing ETL processes and data automation workflows using Python
• Working proficiency in workflow orchestration, containerization, and version control tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Docker, git)
• Strong SQL skills for data manipulation, querying, and optimization
• Good understanding of data modeling and architecture principles
• Hands-on experience with cloud services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS: ECS, EC2, RDS)
• Excellent spoken and written English skills
