You will be a key architect in developing and implementing robust privacy and data governance processes and tooling, significantly enhancing our existing practices and ensuring Airwallex remains a trusted partner for its customers.
• • In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Information Security, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and various business units. Your primary objective will be to embed data privacy and AI governance principles into the very fabric of our operations, ensuring that Airwallex not only meets but exceeds its regulatory obligations while fostering an unwavering sense of customer trust. • • Your responsibilities will encompass the establishment, maintenance, and continuous evolution of Airwallex’s comprehensive data privacy framework and governance program. This involves the meticulous development and updating of privacy policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring strict adherence to global regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. You will be a crucial link between policy and practice, translating these high-level requirements into practical, repeatable workflows and controls that are seamlessly integrated into our everyday tools like Slack, Jira, and Confluence, as well as specialized privacy tooling.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve supporting the development of data governance processes in close partnership with our Engineering and InfoSec teams. This includes defining requirements and implementing solutions related to data tagging and cataloging, data lineage tracking, and clearly defining data roles and responsibilities. You will also be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and continuously improving our suite of privacy processes and tooling, such as those used for Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests, Records of Processing Activities (ROPA), and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). The goal is to ensure these tools are not only effective but also seamlessly integrated into our existing Product, Engineering, Operations, and Support workflows, creating a cohesive and efficient operational environment.
• • Furthermore, you will play a vital role in supporting privacy risk assessment processes for both new and existing products, features, and services. This will involve proactively identifying potential privacy risks and recommending necessary safeguards or design changes to mitigate them. You will also support the review and negotiation of data processing agreements and related contractual processes with our customers, vendors, and partners, ensuring that appropriate contractual protections are in place to safeguard sensitive data. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring compliance and maintaining trust across all our business relationships.
• • To foster a strong culture of privacy across the entire organization, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining comprehensive privacy training and awareness programs. This educational component is essential for ensuring that every employee understands their role in protecting data and upholding our privacy commitments. Additionally, you will actively support the tracking of evolving privacy and AI legal and regulatory changes, managing the implementation of new requirements into our existing privacy processes and tooling, ensuring Airwallex remains agile and compliant in an ever-changing landscape.
