- • The Data & Reporting Analyst role at CNO Financial Group is critical to transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions across claims, policyholder services, underwriting, and new business functions. This position ensures data integrity, supports performance monitoring, and enables leadership to assess risk, optimize operations, and validate assumptions through reliable reporting and analysis.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and analyzing end-user reporting needs in collaboration with Business Analysts; administering recurring dashboards (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual); designing, developing, testing, and validating reports and dashboards of simple to moderate complexity using tools like Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx; performing data validation, mapping, and analysis from data warehouses; supporting automation of workflows; maintaining forecasting models and financial analyses (cost-benefit, decision support); and conducting ad hoc analyses to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- • The analyst works within CNO’s Enterprise Data & Analytics team, which partners closely with business units to deliver a “One Source of Truth” reporting environment. The team emphasizes continuous improvement, internal controls, and collaboration across functional areas such as claims, underwriting, and contact center operations to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely information delivery.
- • In this role, the analyst will deepen expertise in insurance industry data domains, strengthen technical proficiency in BI and data preparation tools, and gain experience in translating complex data into clear business narratives. Success in this position can lead to advancement into senior analytics, reporting leadership, or specialized data modeling roles within CNO’s growing data-driven organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent combination of education and eight years of relevant experience.
- • Minimum of three years of hands-on data analysis experience, preferably in Insurance, Financial Services, or Operations Consulting environments.
- • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and experience with reporting tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
