📋 Description

• As a Data Scientist at Parafin Inc., you will play a pivotal role in expanding access to financial tools for small businesses by leveraging rich data from platform partnerships to drive fair, automated, and scalable financial services.
• Day to day, you will design experiments to balance growth and risk, build and deploy ML models (such as XGBoost) to forecast merchant repayment, develop data pipelines that power company-wide analytics, and create internal tools like Streamlit apps and dashboards to support cross-functional teams.
• You will join a tight-knit, high-caliber team of innovators from Stripe, Square, Plaid, Coinbase, Robinhood, CERN, and more, united by a mission to empower small businesses through technology and backed by top-tier venture capital.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in causal inference, production ML systems, and data infrastructure while mentoring peers, leading end-to-end projects, and shaping Parafin’s impact on small business financial health.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong statistical reasoning including experience with causal inference, metric design, and predictive modeling
• Proficiency in writing legible, reliable, and tested code with an engineering mindset
• Ability to identify and prioritize business problems and apply data science techniques to solve them
• Experience building or contributing to data pipelines, ML model deployment, or internal tooling (e.g., APIs, Streamlit, dashboards)
• Fluency in adopting and critically evaluating AI tools and workflows to accelerate analysis
