📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to financial services clients, guiding them through data architecture and engineering needs using Databricks solutions, with equal time dedicated to billable project work and pre-sales activities.
• Design, build, and deploy end-to-end data solutions that enable AI, machine learning, and business intelligence initiatives by capturing, transforming, and leveraging structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with sales teams to present technical architectures and demonstrate the value of SunnyData’s Databricks-based offerings to prospective clients through tailored demonstrations and solution presentations.
• Manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of data solutions, tracking project milestones, and reporting measurable outcomes to stakeholders.
• Architect scalable data systems incorporating industry best practices in data governance, security, quality, and compliance, with a focus on financial services regulatory environments.
• Evaluate diverse data sources for analytical value and recommend inclusion strategies to enhance data pipelines and downstream analytics.
• Lead internal cross-functional teams, providing technical direction, mentorship, and guidance to data engineers and analysts to ensure successful implementation of client solutions.
• Perform system analysis to identify, assess, and resolve data and system defects, applying corrective measures to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Test data movement, transformation logic, and data components to validate accuracy, performance, and consistency across pipelines.
• Create comprehensive solution documentation including proof-of-concept (POC) reports, technical roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across large-scale data environments.
• Lead discovery sessions to define complex architecture requirements and translate them into actionable implementation blueprints for engineering teams.
• Ensure all deployed solutions meet stringent requirements for performance, scalability, security, and robust data integration in production environments.
• Educate end users and client teams on data products, analytic environments, and best practices for leveraging Databricks-based platforms.
• Apply modern data engineering techniques including ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data integration to support enterprise analytics workflows.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Solutions Architect and/or Senior Data Engineer with recent, focused implementation of Databricks-based data solutions.
• Expertise in Data Engineering technologies including Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and data science/machine learning tools such as pandas and scikit-learn.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Scala for developing data pipelines and transformation logic.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Advanced SQL skills including query optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Strong client-facing communication skills with proven experience in presenting technical solutions to stakeholders and leading pre-sales engagements.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring junior engineers in delivery of complex data projects.
• Ability to create detailed technical documentation including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, and system architecture views.
• End-to-end ownership of data solutions from design through production deployment, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
