📋 Description

• As a Database Administrator (DBA) SRE at Skelar AS, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of high-load database systems supporting products handling up to 100k operations per second, directly impacting the stability and success of international tech ventures built by a Ukrainian venture builder.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting database health, collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and QA teams on technical issues, maintaining system monitoring and slow query reporting, participating in database restructuring, and contributing to schema design and data modeling for MySQL-based systems.
• You will join a strong Software Development team of 10+ FTE within Skelar AS, a Ukrainian venture builder that creates international tech businesses by assembling high-performing teams to succeed in global markets, working on mission-critical, high-throughput products.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in MySQL administration, performance tuning, backup solutions, replication, and monitoring, while gaining exposure to collaborative DevOps practices, cross-functional teamwork, and opportunities to work with complementary technologies like Python, Golang, NoSQL databases, and networking infrastructure.

• Experience with administering MySQL server
• Basic performance, query, and index optimization
• Confident knowledge of MySQL backup solutions
• Good understanding of monitoring requirements
• Good understanding of replication principles
• Comfortable with collaborative tools such as Slack, wikis, Subversion, and ticket tracking systems (YouTrack, Jira)
• Fast learner and creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Effective team member with high motivation and ability to work with little supervision
• Dynamic self-starter with high attention to detail, highly responsible and reliable
