- • As a Deployed Engineer (DE) at Cognition, you will be at the forefront of our mission to revolutionize software development with AI. You will serve as a critical bridge between our cutting-edge AI software engineering product, Devin, and our valued customers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure our customers achieve maximum value from Devin, acting as their trusted technical advisor and advocate.
- • This role is deeply customer-centric, demanding a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional interpersonal skills. You will own the entire technical journey of our customers, from the initial pre-sales engagement through to full-scale deployment and ongoing activation. This involves understanding their unique engineering challenges, identifying the most impactful use cases for Devin, and guiding them through the integration and adoption process.
- • You will be instrumental in shaping the customer experience by leading technical aspects of the pre-sales process. This includes crafting compelling product demonstrations that showcase Devin's capabilities in real-world scenarios, meticulously executing pilot programs to prove value, and collaborating closely with customer engineering organizations to pinpoint and assign the most suitable tasks for Devin.
- • Beyond the initial engagement, your role extends to designing and delivering comprehensive training programs and enablement resources. These initiatives will empower customer teams to effectively roll out Devin to potentially thousands of engineers within their organizations, fostering widespread adoption and maximizing productivity gains.
- • Success in this position hinges on a robust technical background, whether acquired through formal computer science education or extensive hands-on experience in leading highly technical sales or deployment engagements. Crucially, you must possess a genuine passion for building and a relentless drive and grit, essential for thriving in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment where innovation and rapid iteration are paramount.
- • You will be the primary technical point of contact, responsible for understanding the intricate technical landscapes of our customers. This involves deep dives into their existing workflows, development pipelines, and technological stacks to identify opportunities where Devin can seamlessly integrate and provide significant value.
- • Building and nurturing deep, trusting relationships with customer engineering teams is paramount. You will act as their guide, ensuring smooth product integration, driving adoption, identifying and activating power users, and ultimately maximizing Devin's utilization across their organization.
- • A core tenet of this role is the commitment to continuous improvement through customer feedback. You will actively listen to insights from the field, possess a strong bias towards implementing requested features yourself where feasible, and serve as a powerful advocate for customer needs within Cognition's product and engineering teams.
- • You will function as the 'customer oracle,' leveraging your deep understanding of customer challenges and your product instincts to significantly influence and shape the future roadmap of Devin and related AI agents. Your insights will be invaluable in guiding our product development efforts.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
- • Proven track record of successful enterprise software deployments, preferably in a customer-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Account Management.
- • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced, and rapidly evolving environments, with a strong capacity for rapid learning and adaptation.
