- • As a Deputy Editor (Medicine) at John Wiley & Sons, you will support the Editor-in-Chief of an Advanced cross-disciplinary title in medicine and contribute to the wider Advanced portfolio by managing manuscripts within your area of expertise, driving strategic initiatives that bridge research communities and shape global scientific publishing.
- • Day to day, you will develop and execute strategic growth initiatives for Wiley’s Advanced Portfolio in medicine, commission high-quality papers by engaging leading researchers, manage the peer review process and editorial decisions, collaborate with global editorial and marketing teams, support the launch of new spin-off titles, inform medical cluster strategies, and generate ideas for subject-related products.
- • You will join a global team at Wiley, a 200-year-old leader in science, education, and publishing, known for transforming knowledge into impact, fostering innovation, and promoting a culture of curiosity, integrity, and continuous learning with meeting-free Fridays and strong internal mobility.

🎯 Requirements
- • PhD in any medical specialty
- • Demonstrated commissioning experience including identifying priority topics, approaching prospective authors, agreeing outlines/timelines, and guiding authors to submission
- • Manuscript handling experience (prescreening, peer review, final decision, appeals, and integrity cases)
- • Strong global network within research communities and proven track record of engaging with top-tier research talent
- • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- • Willingness to travel internationally
