• • This is a unique, primarily video-first Developer Advocate opportunity, structured as a contract-to-hire position. We are seeking an exceptional individual who can consistently produce high-quality, engaging technical video content that developers genuinely look forward to consuming. Your primary mission will be to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, compelling visual narratives that resonate with our target audience.
• • Your core responsibilities will involve creating polished, informative, and entertaining technical videos on a regular cadence. This includes rapidly developing and iterating on demo applications, primarily using Python, to effectively showcase Kumo's unique capabilities. You will be instrumental in transforming intricate product features into clear, visual, and easily understandable stories, drawing sharp distinctions between Kumo's RFM approach and traditional LLM-based methodologies. A key aspect of this role is making advanced AI concepts feel intuitive, exciting, and readily applicable to real-world problems.
• • What you will actually spend most of your time doing includes: recording and producing podcast-quality technical videos that capture attention and hold interest; building and refining demo applications specifically designed for clear, step-by-step video walkthroughs; explaining the fundamental principles of Relational Foundation Models using relatable analogies and practical, real-world examples; creating a diverse range of technical content, from concise short-form videos to in-depth long-form tutorials; and iterating quickly on new content ideas based on community feedback and emerging trends.
• • This role is inherently output-driven. Success is measured by your ability to consistently ship high-quality video content efficiently. If you possess the drive and skill to produce engaging technical narratives rapidly, you will find a highly rewarding environment at Kumo AI.
• • What defines success in this role? We are looking for candidates who already possess a strong portfolio of public technical videos that demonstrate their expertise and style. Your video and audio production quality should be crisp, professional, and engaging, reflecting a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. Native or fully fluent English proficiency is essential for clear and impactful communication. You should be confident, natural, and charismatic on camera, capable of connecting with your audience on a personal level.
• • A critical skill is the ability to explain complex technical ideas in simple, clear, and concise language. You will leverage analogies, storytelling techniques, and practical examples to ensure that key concepts stick with viewers. Solid Python programming skills are a must, coupled with a practical, hands-on understanding of machine learning concepts. You should possess at least a strong working knowledge of ML principles and be comfortable confidently demonstrating common ML workflows.
• • You will be expected to clearly articulate several key points: What exactly is a Relational Foundation Model? Why is relational data fundamentally different from unstructured text data? And crucially, why Kumo is not just another incremental ML tool, but a paradigm shift in how we approach AI for structured data.
