đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Developer Community Manager at Cognition, you will serve as the vital bridge between our groundbreaking AI software engineering tools—Devin and Windsurf—and the global developer ecosystem, ensuring that engineers worldwide can experience, understand, and adopt these technologies in real-world workflows.
  • • You will design and launch community initiatives from scratch, transforming how developers interact with AI-powered software engineering by creating authentic, technical, and impactful engagement opportunities that reflect Cognition’s mission to augment human ingenuity.
  • • Day to day, you will scale the developer ambassador program by identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and supporting technical advocates who champion Devin in their local and online communities, providing them with resources, mentorship, and platforms to share their experiences.
  • • You will plan and execute a diverse range of developer-focused events, including hackathons, meetups, demo days, and conference activations, ensuring each showcases Devin’s capabilities in realistic coding scenarios and fosters hands-on learning.
  • • You will build and manage university programs by establishing campus ambassador networks, delivering workshop series, and forming partnerships with computer science departments and student engineering organizations to introduce Devin to the next generation of engineers.
  • • You will create compelling technical content such as tutorials, demo scripts, workshop materials, and blog posts that help developers grasp Devin’s functionality, integrate it into their workflows, and share best practices.
  • • You will own the community feedback loop by actively listening to developer discussions across platforms, synthesizing insights about usability, pain points, and feature requests, and surfacing them to product and engineering teams to drive iterative improvements.
  • • You will manage community platforms—including Discord, GitHub, Reddit, and technical forums—fostering authentic engagement, moderating discussions, and highlighting high-signal contributions that advance collective understanding.
  • • You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to align community initiatives with product launches, technical milestones, and company goals, ensuring messaging and programming remain cohesive and impactful.
  • • You will track and analyze key metrics such as ambassador activity, event attendance, community growth, sentiment, and product adoption originating from community channels, using data to iterate on strategies and demonstrate impact.
  • • You will operate with significant autonomy in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment, where your ability to prototype, test, and scale ideas quickly will directly shape Cognition’s developer outreach and long-term success.
  • • You will work alongside a talent-dense team of world-class engineers and researchers from organizations like Scale AI, Palantir, Google DeepMind, and Tesla, contributing to a mission-driven culture focused on solving hard problems in AI and software engineering.
  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in AI-powered developer tools, refine your technical communication and advocacy skills, and build a lasting impact by shaping how a global community of engineers adopts and evolves with the future of software development.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Technical background: you’ve written code professionally or as part of a CS degree, and you can hold your own in a conversation about APIs, SDKs, and developer workflows
  • • 2+ years of experience in developer relations, community management, technical evangelism, or a related role at a technology company
  • • Demonstrated experience planning and executing technical events, workshops, or community programs
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into approachable content
  • • A builder mentality: you’d rather ship a scrappy v1 than wait for perfect conditions
  • • Comfort operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is the norm

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to work on pioneering AI products like Devin, the first AI software engineer, and Windsurf, the AI-native IDE, shaping the future of how software is built
  • • High-impact role with significant autonomy to design and scale community programs from the ground up in an early-stage, mission-driven startup
  • • Collaboration with elite technical talent from leading AI and technology companies, fostering rapid learning and professional growth
  • • Exposure to cutting-edge AI research and engineering practices through close partnership with product and engineering teams
  • • Ability to influence product direction by surfacing authentic developer feedback and insights from global communities
  • • Flexibility to innovate and experiment with new formats, platforms, and programs that resonate with deeply technical audiences
