📋 Description

• As a Developer Relations Engineer at Pdftools, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge PDF technology and developers who need it most by creating authentic technical content and engaging directly with the developer community.
• Your day-to-day will involve building hands-on samples, demos, and small applications that showcase Pdftools’ technology; experimenting with AI and document engineering (LLMs, vision models, RAG); publishing technical blog posts and architecture deep dives; and actively participating in developer spaces like GitHub, Reddit, and Hacker News through helpful contributions, webinars, and event speaking.
• You’ll join a Swiss-founded, remote-first team of PDF technology veterans with over 30 years of industry leadership, where values like problem-solving, ownership, continuous learning, and customer focus drive a culture of precision, empathy, and innovation.
• In this role, you’ll deepen your expertise in AI-document workflows, sharpen your prototyping skills across Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, gain influence in developer communities, and shape product strategy by surfacing real-world insights from the field—all while working with a trusted product used by mission-critical enterprises worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of software development experience
• Hands-on experience with AI systems including LLMs, vision-language models, RAG pipelines, or document AI workflows
• Strong prototyping ability in Python (data workflows, backend logic) and JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend or SDK integrations)
• Established workflows with AI coding tools and agents
• Ability to articulate clear technical opinions based on experiments and comfort publishing them publicly
• Communication skills to explain complex ideas in a peer-to-peer, non-instructional manner
