- • Own the end-to-end migration of a large-scale, on-premise investment-research platform to AWS, reducing deployment time from hours to minutes and cutting infrastructure costs by 30% within your first year.
- • Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines in GoCD and GitLab that serve 200+ daily builds across development, staging, and production tiers, ensuring zero-downtime releases for a global user base.
- • Design reusable Terraform and Terragrunt modules that provision VPCs, EKS clusters, RDS/Aurora instances, and IAM roles in minutes, enforcing security baselines and tagging standards that satisfy SOC 2 and internal audit requirements.
- • Automate configuration management with Ansible playbooks that bootstrap EC2 instances, configure log shippers, install monitoring agents, and harden OS images, shrinking environment-provisioning time from days to under 30 minutes.
- • Administer and optimize Ubuntu and RHEL fleets across hybrid cloud and on-prem data centers, tuning kernel parameters, cgroups, and systemd units to achieve 99.95% uptime for latency-sensitive trading applications.
- • Support high-throughput MySQL and Cassandra clusters (10 TB+ data sets) by automating backups, rolling schema migrations, and performance tuning; troubleshoot replication lag and partition issues before they impact clients.
- • Build and maintain multi-tier Docker and Kubernetes environments (EKS, self-managed K8s) with Helm charts, network policies, and PodDisruptionBudgets, enabling blue/green and canary deployments for 50+ microservices.
- • Enhance observability by shipping metrics, logs, and traces to AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana; create actionable alerts that reduce MTTR from 45 minutes to under 10 minutes.
- • Implement secrets management using AWS SSM Parameter Store, KMS, and IAM policies, rotating credentials automatically and eliminating hard-coded secrets across all environments.
- • Partner with security, compliance, and development teams to embed DevSecOps practices—static code scanning, image vulnerability scanning, and policy-as-code—into every stage of the SDLC.
- • Document runbooks, architecture diagrams, and post-mortems in Confluence, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing that empowers junior engineers and speeds onboarding.
- • Contribute to the global DevOps guild, sharing best practices with peers in Toronto, New York, London, and Timisoara, and influencing the technical roadmap for the next generation of investment-research infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of hands-on DevOps or SRE experience designing and operating AWS environments at scale.
- • Proven expertise with CI/CD tooling—specifically GoCD and/or GitLab CI—covering build, test, security scanning, and deployment stages.
- • Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Terragrunt; comfortable writing reusable, version-controlled modules.
- • Solid Linux systems-administration skills (Ubuntu/RHEL) including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
- • Production experience containerizing applications with Docker and orchestrating them in Kubernetes (EKS or self-managed clusters).
- • Experience supporting relational and/or NoSQL clusters—MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or similar—in high-availability, high-throughput environments.
