  • • DevOps Engineer at Havoc AI Inc plays a critical role in enabling the company’s mission of advancing collaborative autonomy for defense and commercial maritime missions by building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and automation systems that power rapid, reliable software delivery.
  • • This role ensures engineering teams can innovate quickly and safely by providing paved paths, self-service tooling, and resilient platforms that reduce toil and increase velocity across the organization.
  • • Day to day, the DevOps Engineer will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting the full software lifecycle, ensuring code moves smoothly from commit to production with automated testing, validation, and deployment.
  • • They will develop self-service tooling and standardized workflows for deployment and operations, reducing dependency on manual interventions and enabling teams to ship software independently and confidently.
  • • The engineer will improve developer experience through automation, clear documentation, and the promotion of best practices, creating internal platforms that abstract complexity and empower engineers to focus on feature development.
  • • They will implement and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar), treating cloud resources as version-controlled, reproducible, and auditable assets.
  • • Supporting containerized workloads via Docker and Kubernetes, the engineer will ensure applications are portable, scalable, and consistently orchestrated across development, staging, and production environments.
  • • They will maintain and improve environments across dev, staging, and production, ensuring parity, stability, and readiness for frequent releases while minimizing configuration drift.
  • • Partnering with platform and SRE teams, the engineer will help ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient, aligning infrastructure decisions with performance, resilience, and financial goals.
  • • Implementing observability tooling across logging, metrics, and alerting, they will enable proactive detection of issues and faster diagnosis during incidents, improving system transparency.
  • • The engineer will participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and system improvements, contributing to a blameless culture focused on learning and preventing recurrence.
  • • They will ensure secure pipelines, secrets management, and access controls, integrating security into the CI/CD lifecycle and adhering to least-privilege principles.
  • • Contributing to reliability best practices and operational readiness, the engineer will help define and evolve standards for system health, change management, and failure preparedness.
  • • Working closely with engineering teams, they will support deployment and operational needs, acting as a force multiplier by resolving blockers and enabling smooth releases.
  • • The engineer will troubleshoot infrastructure and runtime issues across systems, applying deep systems knowledge to diagnose problems in networking, storage, compute, or orchestration layers.
  • • They will contribute to platform standards and internal documentation, ensuring knowledge is shared, practices are consistent, and onboarding is streamlined.
  • • In this role, the person can learn advanced cloud architecture patterns, deepen expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform at scale, and gain experience in building internal developer platforms that serve sophisticated engineering organizations.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering
  • • Strong experience with CI/CD systems and automation
  • • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • • Experience managing cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
  • • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • • Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
