📋 Description

  • • EverOps Inc. is seeking a passionate and driven DevOps Engineer to join our U.S.-Based Virtual Operating Center, becoming an integral part of a dynamic pod that supports enterprise cloud environments. As a premier Embedded Service Provider, EverOps partners directly with the engineering teams of the world's most innovative global enterprise software companies, co-owning complex challenges from within their development environments. This role is specifically designed for an early-career engineer eager to gain extensive exposure to real-world cloud infrastructure and build robust automation fundamentals, while directly contributing to the success of our clients.
  • • The core mission of this role is to empower customer engineering teams by improving their CI/CD systems, cloud environments, infrastructure automation, and overall platform reliability. While you will be involved in troubleshooting issues across various environments, including production when necessary, your primary focus will be on enabling engineers and driving continuous improvements in the systems they rely on daily. This is a unique opportunity to learn by doing, working closely with seasoned engineers while taking ownership of well-defined automation and platform enhancement projects.
  • • As a Junior DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will span several critical areas. In Engineer Support & Triage, you will be the first point of contact for infrastructure and CI/CD-related tickets submitted by engineering teams. This involves diagnosing and resolving build failures, deployment issues, Identity and Access Management (IAM) or permissions problems, networking misconfigurations, and container runtime errors. You will assist in debugging complex issues across development, staging, and production cloud environments, and crucially, identify recurring problems to propose and implement automation-based solutions that prevent future occurrences.
  • • In Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC), you will actively contribute to managing and provisioning infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation. Your work will involve improving reusable modules and championing DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) infrastructure patterns to ensure consistency and efficiency. You will also write automation scripts and develop small tooling projects using Python, Go, or Bash to eliminate manual operational tasks, and assist in automating environment provisioning, account setup, and complex deployment workflows, thereby streamlining the development lifecycle.
  • • For CI/CD & GitOps, you will support and enhance existing CI/CD pipelines leveraging tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins. A key aspect of this will be improving deployment reliability and refining rollback processes to ensure swift recovery from any issues. You will also contribute to the adoption and enhancement of GitOps-based workflows, utilizing tools like ArgoCD or Flux to manage infrastructure and application deployments declaratively.
  • • Within Cloud & Container Platforms, you will support containerized workloads running on Kubernetes clusters (including EKS, AKS, GKE, or self-managed clusters). This includes assisting with namespace configuration, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) management, and maintaining cluster hygiene. You will also help manage cloud resources across AWS and other major cloud providers, and participate in critical projects related to environment setup and account structuring, ensuring a solid foundation for our clients' operations.
  • • In Observability & Reliability, you will contribute to the implementation and tuning of monitoring and alerting systems, such as Datadrom or cloud-native monitoring tools. Your efforts will focus on reducing alert fatigue by improving signal quality through automation and refining alert configurations. You will also play a role in post-incident reviews, identifying opportunities for preventative automation to enhance system resilience and stability.
  • • Finally, in Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for documenting processes and creating internal runbooks to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. You will actively identify opportunities to automate manual support workflows, freeing up valuable engineering time. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers on significant platform enhancement projects, contributing to the overall evolution and optimization of our clients' technological infrastructure.
