📋 Description

• As a DevOps Engineer at Levelpath Inc., you will play a pivotal role in building, scaling, and optimizing the infrastructure that powers a modern AI-driven procurement platform used by global enterprises, directly enabling faster, more secure, and intelligent business operations for finance, procurement, legal, and IT teams.
• You will design and maintain scalable, high-performance infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, spearhead observability enhancements through AI-powered monitoring (AIOps), and collaborate closely with backend (Ruby on Rails) and frontend (React) engineering teams to streamline deployments, improve system reliability, and accelerate delivery cycles in an agile, innovation-focused environment.
• Levelpath is a fast-growing, mission-driven company founded in 2022 that leverages AI to transform procurement into a delightful, efficient process for global brands, offering a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture where cutting-edge tools like AI coding assistants are actively used to multiply developer productivity and drive continuous improvement.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cloud infrastructure, AI-integrated observability, and Infrastructure as Code while gaining hands-on experience applying AI to operational workflows — positioning you at the forefront of modern DevOps practices in a company that values ownership, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
• You will take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure quality, performance, and compliance (SOC2, GDPR, CCPA), using your Linux and networking expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize resource utilization, reduce latency, and ensure high availability across services including ECS, RDS, S3, Route53, and SES.
• You will lead the integration of AI into observability stacks by implementing predictive alerting, automated anomaly detection, and intelligent incident response systems using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, while leveraging AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate IaC development and automation scripting.
• You will partner with compliance and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets rigorous security and privacy standards, contributing to a platform trusted by global brands for its clarity, control, and intelligence in spend management.
• You will help shape developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform Cloud, fostering a culture of rapid iteration and reliability that enables the engineering team to ship faster with confidence.
• You will work in a dynamic, international team based onsite in San Francisco, where innovation is driven by curiosity, accountability, and a shared commitment to using AI not just as a feature, but as a force multiplier for operational excellence.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven hands-on expertise with Terraform and AWS services including IAM, ECS, RDS, Route53, S3, and SES
• Deep understanding of Linux and networking with strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience with modern observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) and interest in applying AI/ML to operational data
• Proficiency or strong eagerness to use AI-driven development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to enhance productivity
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions and Terraform Cloud is a plus
• Knowledge of backend systems like Ruby on Rails or Django is a strong plus
